What was most annoying about this episode was Eli wearing his shirt untucked under that sport coat and being the front guy. Is that what passes for “dressed nicely” these days? It bugged me the entire show. I would have loved to see Robin tell him to tuck in his shirttail and him go all YUR NOT THE BOSSA ME !! on her.

I don’t think it has anything to do with her age. Or her sex. She is just plain ole annoying. Combined with her holier than thou attitude. She would still be annoying if she was young and male.

Maria there is also sexism in play – if Robin was male there wouldn’t be as much hatred either. The other chefs want to be free of any “mom” figure because their behavior is pretty shoddy.

I agree. I think it’s a bit of ageism on the part of every one else. I’ve noticed it with other reality show contestants who are her age are also seen as somewhat suspect unless they start to act like the “mom” (like Ariane last season). She also reminds me a bit of Wendy Pepper from Project Runway Season 1, but Wendy turned on everyone at the end.

It strikes me that Robin talks and talks and talks because she doesn’t feel welcomed. It’s like a nervous tic response and she clearly knows that the house (where she is living 24.7) does not welcome her.

I think the problem with Robyn is her annoying personality. If she would just stick to cooking and not talking to everyone constantly, she would be more well liked.

I don’t understand the hate on Robin. She has life experiences (ok she’s older than everyone else on the show) so she should be getting a little respect. If she wasn’t qualified to be on the show, she wouldn’t have been picked aas a contestant. Michael was Really RUDE last night, she asserted herself on her OWN dish, he had an issue – he was nastier to his brother last week. and he thought she was inappropriate for dropping the f bomb? so what.
