Rewriting Medium

If you could rewrite an episode of Medium, would you? If so, this is your chance. Pick your least favorite episode and rewrite the portion you didn’t like to make it start or end the way you thought it should.

The episode I’d choose? Part 2 of the final three. I wanted Allison to figure out exactly who Debra was before she spilled her secrets and then try to save her anyway. I just didn’t like Allison being tricked that way. At least that kind of happened in the final episode, but Allison had already given away all of her secrets.

    That’s a good one Katelyn!

I’d like to completely re-write the one with the Assemblyman who suppossedly committed suicide, but we later find out his protege actually murdered him, not because he sexually abused him as a child, as we find out, but because of political reasons – he wants to be his successor! Can’t remember the title of that one off the top of my head, but it was a mess! From start to finish – I think most people agreed it was a pretty big clunker.

First, I’d change it to where Scanlon was a lot more involved. It didn’t make sense that he wasn’t on the scene in the first place if the police suspected murder, he should have been called. Instead, Devalos was there because of the family or something. The police seemed to have missed obvious clues. This is also the one where Allison goes – by herself – to this area where there are these caves, caverns, holes in the ground, whatever they were supposed to be and called the rescue people, only it turns out the little boy she thought she saw at the bottom of one was actually his skeleton – naturally the rescue guys were pissed – didn’t make her look too smart. I would have changed that part. First, she shouldn’t have gone alone, and they should have known he was already dead.

Anyway, I really hated this ep – one of the few clunkers this season – but I thought it was a mess in a lot of ways.

I would have changed why the guy killed him or taken out the molestation part if they were going with the guy killing him for political reasons.

I didn’t care for that episode, either. It was so sad that the little boy spent so many years dead in that hole.

Betty, that was “The Whole Truth,” and I must say that that episode might have been my least favorite episode of the entire series. Did you notice that the kids weren’t in that one at all? One of the things that Medium has going for it is the fact that it’s not just a crime, family, or supernatural drama, it’s all of the above. When they completely eliminate part of the mix in an episode, it just does not work. Plus, the whole crime just felt off to me. I haven’t watched this episode for quite awhile because I always get so annoyed.

All well, one flop a season is pretty good. For the most part I have been really pleased with the work they have presented.

Profiles in Terror. I don’t want Richard Gomez to die. I think it would have been funner if Richard moved into Allison’s town (If that hasn’t happened already). And Allison’s like “OMG! DICK GOMEZ!”
