Richard Simmons' Emotional Plea - Video

imageThis morning, Good Morning America aired footage of Richard Simmons making an emotional plea against obesity on Capital Hill.  He spoke of his own personal experience and how a lack of physical activity and emotional problems led to a struggle with this weight.  I agree with him 100% and I am so grateful that he has taken his life and made it about helping people get healthy.  Regardless of whether you think his fitness videos are cheesy, he has changed lives and I applaud him for that.  Hear what he says here:

It’s about time some fitness expert has done something for our kids. Everyone else seems to focus on adult. Thank you Richard

Ms has been determined to be the “fattest” state in the union, yet the city of Meridian school
district has taken Physical educationb and Recess from the elementry schools. I saw Richard on GMA and he talked about a petition and national legislation to get our kids off their backsides and into physical activity. Where can I find out more about this legislation, the sponsors and Richard’s petition.
