Rick Hearst Leaves General Hospital

When Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing) was dropped out of his contract it was initially reported that he will be put on a recurring status. Meaning hell appear from time to time. Well, things have changed. Rick Hearst is now  leaving GH completely. For now anyway. No one ever “leaves” soaps. Expect a huge send off for the most hated character in Port Charles.

But don’t worry, Rick is not disappearing from Daytime. Not at all. He was rumored to be negotiating with CBS’ Guiding Light to reprise his Alan-Michael Spaulding role but it didn’t come into fruition. People are wondering why but if you really think about it, why would Ric go back to a show that’s ending soon? CBS is canceling Guiding Light for good.

Rick Hearst will be seen in The Bold and The Beautiful instead. He will start playing Whipple Jones starting July 17. So see, Rick will not be unemployed for too long.
