Rihanna’s facial injuries have been leaked

Ay yi yi. We know that Chris Brown arrested for alleged assault with a deadly weapon against girlfriend Rihanna, Rihanna was “beaten, bitten, and bloodied”, Rihanna was beaten AND got a death threat from Chris Brown, and this wasn’t the first time he attacked Rihanna.

Now, an image from the LAPD has surfaced that shows the extent of her injuries. Warning: this is pretty graphic.

As you can see, she was beaten pretty badly around the head. This was taken right after she was allegedly beaten by Chris Brown, so the swelling and other injuries hadn’t kicked in yet.

Now, obviously this photo was leaked, and the LAPD has issued an official statement about it:

At about 7 p.m. on February 19, 2009, the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations
Section began receiving numerous inquiries about the release of a photograph associated with a
domestic violence incident that occurred on February 8, 2009, involving entertainer Chris
Brown. The photograph appeared on an entertainment website. The photograph has the
appearance of one taken during an official Domestic Violence investigation.
The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of
victims of domestic violence.
The Department launched an immediate internal investigation and subsequently filed a personnel
complaint.
A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including
termination.

Basically, what this says is that whoever leaked this is going to get fired and possibly is going to face a criminal investigation. Personally, I am supportive of this photo getting out there, not because I wish to cause Rihanna any more pain, but because there are SO MANY domestic violence victims out there that choose to keep their pain private and not bring it out into the open. I’m hoping that this might inspire somebody who’s been putting up with this kind of crud to report it, deal with it, whatever they need to do.
