I am sad to report that Eileen Herlie (Myrtle, All My Children) has passed away last Wednesday, October 8th from pneumonia complications. Eileen Herlie was 90 yrs old. Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
Before Eileen Herlie joined All My Children in 1976, she was known in the Theater world as Queen Gertrude in “Hamlet” whom she also played in a movie opposite Sir Laurence Olivier. Read more about Eileen Herlie in wikipedia.
The character Myrtle Fargate hasn’t been seen in Pine Valley for a few months now. Myrtle was not only the second Mother to Erica Kane but she was also the confidante to everyone. Most especially Zach Slater.
I don’t know how the show will do it but I hope All My Children writes a good exit storyline for Myrtle.
