Katie Holmes was seen arriving at a dance studio Thursday (June 4) in Los Angeles. She was dressed comfy and casually in a gray sweater and black pants.
According to Just Jared, Katie Holmes has been praised for a certain fashion choice by Roberta Armani, Giorgio Armani’s niece, who handles VIPs for the family business.
She had this to say about Katie: “Don’t be scared to be bold. My friend Katie Holmes wore some amazing bright blue shoes with an orange Armani Prive dress last year to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in New York – she looked fantastic.”
She is referring to this look.

i agree that she looked amazing at the met gala….i LOVED those blue shoes with the red gown……simply stunning. she looks cute here in her ballets and loose pants…although, half the time when she is dressed casually i think she looks awful with a capital A!!!!!
Hve you noticed, that Katie like Suri always walk with her head down, no smile and very solem.
Katie looks so different in every picture, sometimes she looks a bit thin , sometimes she looks like she has put on a bit of weight, sometimes she looks so natural and exremely pretty like she did at THE GROVE, sometimes she looks happy and smiley, other times she looks so depressed, or maybe she is just deep in thought.
Ithink what Katie wore at THE MET GALA suited the the theme of the night,and she looks so good in red, wish she wore it more often, she looks good in Armani, wow those heels are high!
I cannot imagine living under the micoscope that this family lives under. I do have eyes, though, and they are attached to my brain, and everything screams sadness. This beautiful young woman is depleted. She is devoid of happiness. I wish she could find the courage to move on. We have all made mistakes in our youth, and have hooked up with people whom we thought could further us (in whatever ways), but we are given one life. My heart just aches for this very sweet and very kind young woman. I do not believe for a minute that she had any idea what she was getting herself into. Katie, everybody really does love you! It is not selfish to put yourself first. If you are okay, everybody (Suri) around you will be okay. You are so BEAUTIFUL. You could have ANYBODY! The world loves you, Katie Holmes!
I think her sadness in this picture is a cry for help. I say this because
she KNOWS the paparrazi will be waiting to take her picture and afterwards celebrity blogs will be writing how sad Katie Holmes looks. There is no denying this. Something or someone has brought this sadness to her face.
I dont think you can say she is depleted or even sad from pics that took less then 5 mins. She is looking down yes but she may not want to give them a good shot, thinking or she is avoiding the sun.

I’ts nice that people are so concerned about Katie,but I honestly don’t think she is unhappy with her marriage. When she is with Tom, she generally looks happy. For instance, there were those lovely photos of Tom and Katie at the Memorial Day Concert; they were laughing and chatting with their arms around each other, and they both looked very relaxed and happy.
I just think Katie is sick and tired of the paparazzi. In the beginning of her relationship, she may have found the attention exciting and flattering, but at this point I get the sense that she is “over it” and just wants to be left alone. Even though she may hate the paps, I honestly think she is desperately in love with her husband,daughter, and step-children and has no desire to end her marriage. Plus, it’s not like she’s photographed 24/7. We see tiny glimpses of her going in and out of the dance studio.
I don’t know how many times in the past year or even longer, I have said that things are not right with Katie, and my thoughts havn’t changed, but you can only say it so much. I think she tries hard to show that everything is good in her life, like in the GLAMOUR interview , but there are too many pics around, that show otherwise, sometimes you can say that the media might print some awful pics to stir up things, but there have been too many of those pics for my liking. In NY she looked so tired run down, and thin, TC really was not there that much . Might as well say it, I think it, I don’t think that things are ok in the marriage, and I don’t think they have for a while
Ithink what probably happened between them was a classic case of a passionate attraction, older man , younger woman, and Suri came along . I don’t believe Katie went with Tom to further her career, what bothers me about Katie is, if she had depression, would she keep it silent and would it get treated. I like them together, but if for some reason things are not working out between them , I hope she does have the courage to walk away and take her daughter. My questioning about Katies look has not gone this far before , hope I’m wrong, but I’ve thought this a long time now.
To a certain extent I agree with you Bambi, but Katie, the media, and the paps are going to be together for a long time, if she has had it with them, and is showing it to such an extent, then she is creating the wrong kind of publicity for herself. The look she has goes deeper than fed up with the paps.
Give anything to know what her parents think, really I would!
I also think that Katie is sick and tired of the paparazzi. Every single time this woman steps out there’s a camera in her face!
I just read this from Paul Dano her co-star in The Extra Man:
Working with Katie Holmes on the forthcoming The Extra Man, also starring Kevin Kline, he saw the paparazzi up close. “It was unreal. It was incredibly intrusive. You have to have a certain amount of courage to do deal with that shit. I’m not sure I would handle it the way she did. You hear the cameras clicking and they yell your name and it makes you want to hide or be violent.

ladies: you can only be “on” smiling and looking pleasant so much before you too would begin to walk with your head hung low. trust me, I know. I performed on a national tv show for approx. 4 years. The show was extremely popular in the town where I live and if I may brag I was considered a local celebrity, if you will. I liked the attention, HOWEVER, it became a real time cruncher for me because EVERY time I went to the local supermarket, the dollar store, or church, I COULD NEVER just go in and shop and then leave WITHOUT a fellow shopper staring at me for minutes and then saying: “hey, arent you that girl on blah blah blah?” At first, I was really nice and gracious and would entertain all their questions and comments about the show, my character, and what was going to happen to my marriage on the show but eventually, the years of comments became intrusive and if I was in a rush and needed to just go in and buy milk it became a real challenge to remain all smiles and be pleasant. It got so bad that I eventually would just answer that no, I am NOT that girl on that tv show so people would just let me run my errands without slowing me down. Katie probably feels similiar but with her its MUCH larger. Now, one thing I do think she needs to do is wear a little makeup when she runs errands. I NEVER left the house looking run down or haggard the way she sometimes appears. A little concealer goes a long way to help one to look fresh and alert.
annie, I couldn’t agree with you more. My opinion is pretty much the same as yours. I think the marriage was a case of instant attraction possibly mistaken for a lifetime love and then a baby before Katie really knew what she was getting herself into. I’ve felt there were issues in the marriage for a long time based on the evidence I’ve seen in pictures and things I’ve heard around town. Katie made so many changes in such a quick period of time before really getting to know the man she’s with. A child alone changes a relationship (not necessarily for the worst, but it changes things and makes it more complicated). Add in not knowing one another very long when they became pregnant and everything becomes more complicated, IMHO.
I also hope that IF Katie is not happy, she has the strength to get out and take Suri with her (with visitation for Tom of course) unlike Nicole Kidman who seems to have lost her children in the bargain (atleast it appears that way).
The truth of the matter is, none of knows what’s going really going on behind the scenes. I wish Katie and Tom well and hope for the best despite my feelings.
Regarding what Ms. Armani said, IMHO when Katie goes with the top designers like Armani, she looks wonderful. It’s when she strays into wearing her own designs or trys to put things together day to day that she doesn’t look as good. That’s what a stylist is for. Jeanne Yang, Katie’s “partner” is supposed to be her stylist from what I gather. IMHO, she needs someone else. Just my thoughts.

I completely agree with your feeling on Katie and her marriage. I too feel as though things have not been right in the marriage for quite some time. I’m basing my opinion on numerous pics I’ve seen and things I’ve heard around the industry. I wonder if Katie got more than she bargained for in the marriage. I wonder if she fell in love with love rather than with Tom himself or fell in love with the image Tom created for her. It all happened so fast!. Compound that with a pregnancy only a few months into the relationship and I believe it could be possible. Everyone with children knows that having a family adds new stress to any relationship. Not necessarily bad stress, but it does change things, especially from the honeymoon period!
Also, on the subject of Roberta Armani’s comments, it’s my opinion that when Katie is dressed by Armani or one of the other well known designers, she looks wonderful! It when she dresses in her own designs that I tend not to like the way she looks. IMHO, Jeanne Yang, her partner and stylist is not doing her any favors with the outfits they co-design. Just my opinion…..
I saw the video connected to the pics above, the paps were in her face, very much so, and from the car to the gate of the dance studio it was a few seconds, and they continued videoing her from the back ‘’she actually looked very nice from the back” until she reached the studio door.
Hi Charlotte Rose, I also think that Katie looks great in everyone else’s designs than her own, except The Tropic Thunder dress,, I really liked it on her. I like Katie so much, but she is out of her depth in designing, mainly because I feel she is not in touch with what suits her, from her hair, down, and for me thats important. Roberta Armani says don’t be afraid to be bold, but I don’t think she means , wear things that somebody much much older would wear, or spoil a nice vibrant looking dress and a beautiful pair of shoes by wearing that strappy leging thing that she wore in Japan. I’ve said it a thousand times before, and I will continue to say it, I’ll take her look of a few years ago any day to the one she has now. I’m not saying that she dressed spectacular, but the hair was always nice, anytime or anywhere she was photographed, and her clothes suiting her age, her weight was perfect , not a bone or rib in sight, her skin, eyes , everything, really. Now she has so much money to play around with, and she misses the mark continuously. I might be wrong, but she seems like a person who might get influenced easily , upon meeting someone she takes a liking to , like Victoria Beckam, for instance, and the same with Tom. I’m looking at this from the outside, but there are some things I think that come through.
CR, why do you blame her marriage when Katie looks worn and tired? Her sister lost her husband recently and she was in a divorce battle, her mother is a cancer survivor. These celebs have lives outside the tabloids and she can have so many reasons for looking down and out sometimes. I have never seen her looking down when she is with Tom. Infact, when she is with him, she seems happy and secure. Most times she looks down, she is alone. We see pictures of her almost every day, am not sure anyother celeb gets so much exposure. Look at Jennifer Garner, sometimes she looks out of it, so many times infact. I don’t think she is depressed, just is not in a mood to look like a happy lolly 24/7.
There’s a very simple answer to that, Lauren! Because it’s my opinion based on what I’ve seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. That’s the simple answer. I also disagree that Katie gets more exposure than all other’s in her situation.
IMHO, the Katie I knew (and loved – and still do) a few years ago prior to her marriage and even at the beginning of the marriage, is a very different person than I see now. I base my opinion on things I have seen in both photographs and in person as well as what I’ve heard in the industry. I know many actors, actresses, directors and producers because I work in the industry and I know none of the people I know have experienced the same vast changes Katie has. She looks down, depressed, sometimes unkempt, older than her years and very tired…..much more so than anyone else I know even though they deal with the same stresses of family, work, press pressure…etc. Heck….I deal with the same stresses minus the press pressure which is why I would never want to be in front of the camera. I worry about Katie….alot. She’s a sweet small town gal from Ohio. By the way, my work is in the creative area of the industry. Not crew, but behind the scenes. My husband is a “suit”. An exec for one of the majors. I’m only saying that as a way to explain what I’ve heard from those who are much closer to the situation than I am. I won’t repeat what I’ve heard. It’s not right. Unfortunately, everyone in this industry “talks”. It’s not right, but it happens alot. It doesn’t make me more right than you.
This is just MY OPINION and just as you have yours, none is less viable than the other unless we knew Katie and Tom well and were aware of what goes on in their day to day private life. I don’t and I don’t think anyone else here does either. I respect your opinion. I just don’t agree with it. Hope you can do the same. I guess we have to respecfully agree to disagree.

I also believe Katie is easily influenced by others. It may be just her sweet nature that makes her easily swayed by those with a stronger personality which Tom does have. That’s my opinion anyway!
SORRY FOR ANOTHER POST, BUT I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING ELSE, LAUREN.
Tom has always been a master at controlling his PR. He and his team are AMAZING at it with the exception of that little lapse in judgement in 05-06 when he fired Pat Kingsley in favor of his sister. Now that he’s with Paul Bloch (who is a true pro), he’s back to being very selective at what he shows to the public (to his benefit, I might add). Tom has been known for that his entire career. He’s always been very, very controlled in terms of showing his emotion. IMHO, that sways the way the public view him and those he’s with. I think everyone was SHOCKED by the Tom we saw during 05-06. Who knew?!?!?! I just don’t think Katie is as good as hiding her emotions as Tom is. She’s more of a “right on the surface” kinda gal. What you see is what you get with her! Again, my opinion only, but I wanted to explain my perspective on that part of your post.

Yes I agree what Katie wore to the Costume Gala was bold & different. And looking back on it I do like her choice even down to the blue shoes. I cannot judge whether Katie is happy or not. Who knows what really happens behind closed doors. Oh to be a fly on the wall! I also like her simple outfit above. It’s pretty much the casual outfit I’d wear to run an errand. From Katie’s pose (head down, hands in pockets) I’d say that yes she appears very uncomfortable. I know because I do exactly the same when I’m uneasy about something.
I agree Michelle. The outfit was bold and different and I like it. If I remember correctly, the Met Gala theme last year was “Superhero’s” so the color choice is perfect considering the blue and orangy red are Superman’s colors. I think it was an inventive choice by Katie and Roberta Armani, who I believe dressed her for the occasion!
Katie looks so good and be herself. She really looking so beautiful and classy in red! Tom so handsome as always..
