Good Morning America anchor, Robin Roberts, will be hosting the Legends Ball at the annual Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum gala on September 11, 2009.
Christopher E. Clouser, the chairman of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum seems very happy with the selection: “We are thrilled that Robin Roberts, one of the industry’s most prominent news and sports journalists will emcee the Legends Ball as we pay homage to the game and honor the greats. We know that Ms. Roberts will entertain and inspire our guests and honorees.”
I think Robin’s personal battle with cancer shows that she has the heart of a true champion so I’m not surprised that she was tapped to be the emcee this year. I couldn’t think of a better person!
The event benefits the International Tennis Hall of Fame while paying tribute to some of the sport’s luminaries.
In both a live and silent auction, guests will be able to bid on one-of-a-kind items and experiences. I don’t know what is up for grabs this time around but I’m sure the offerings will be great!
This year’s honorees include Donald L. Dell, Andres Gimeno, the late Dr. Robert Johnson and nine-time Grand Slam Champion Monica Seles.
