Blair’s father is home for the holidays… and he brought his boyfriend with him.
Other pesky boyfriends are also making their presence known, starting with Alex, Allison’s boyfriend. Alex sent a letter to the Humphrey home, making Rufus angry. Allison claims that it’s over but Rufus learns different from Alex. Rufus confronted Allison about his discussion with Alex – and Allison says that she told Alex that it was over.
Blair is glad to have her father home but distressed to learn that he has bought a house in Lyon to share with Roman. Blair is not happy to have Roman around and schemes to drive him away.
Vanessa enters Dan into a writers contest for The New Yorker.
Serena bought Dan a Christmas present – an expensive watch. He refused to accept it because of the cost. They agree to set some guidelines, including a $50 price limit. Vanessa overhears and tries to help out with a gift but Serena turns her down.
Jenny helps Dan plans Serena’s Christmas gift.
Blair leaves a message with Chuck not to tell Nate about their relationship. Hmm, anybody else think that Nate’s going to somehow hear Chuck’s voice mail?
Serena goes begging to Vanessa for cheap gift suggestions. Serena tells her that Dan wants snow for Christmas and the two embark upon an art project – making snow. When Blair sees Vanessa, she pulls her aside for a talk. She warns her that she’s onto her – and tells her that she’s watching.
Eleanor is surprised to see the man that she saw at the park at her soiree. She finds that Roman arranged for him to pop in since he felt that he was smitten with her. Later, they kiss.
Freddy also makes an appearance at Eleanor’s soiree. Freddy is Roman’s old boyfriend whom Blair invited to make her father jealous. Eleanor figures out that Blair made the invite and kicks Freddy out – but not before Roman and Blair’s father have quarrel.
Lily announces to Serena and Erik that she is seeing Bart Bass. They are not pleased. Neither is Rufus.
Lily helps Jenny and Dan smuggle a Christmas tree up for Serena.
Serena decorates the art studio to look like snow for Dan’s present. Dan gives Serena the original of his story – which was about her. They start kissing and eventually have sex. It begins to snow outside… looks like Dan got both of his wishes!
Bart spends Christmas with Lily, Serena and Erik. He proposes to Lily in front of Serena and Erik… At the same time, Rufus phones Lily and leaves her a message to tell her that he misses her. Bart shows Lily the ring just as she sees the “1 New Message” flash on her phone. Can she guess who it is?

OMG!!!!love love LOVE this episode.gawd i was so so happy when they finally did “it”
D they are so amazing together i dont want effing vanessa to screw them up!!!!gg is the 2nd best show ever!the first of course imo is the other “GG” which is gilmore girls :] but gossipG is my fav show on air by far
)) merry christmas everyone!
AAAH! Roman was, much to my surprise, incredibly sweet. I loved how the Waldorfs came to a happy ending, and I really love the vulnerability Blair shows – I think it makes her much more complex character.
What’s going to happen to Rufus and Lily, though?! And Bart was… surprisingly likeable in this episode!
This episode was really good! I loved when dan ans serena finally did it! Also I do not like Vanessa and i don’t want her to get in the way! I agree with you, gg addict, beacuse this is the 2nd besty show and Gilmore Girls is the first best show in the entire world! no show can beat Gilmore Girls!
I’m thinking that Eleanor may have done more than kiss the stranger from the park – when he was leaving, the next morning, she was in pajamas.
I really hope that Lilly checks her messages before she commits to Bart. Besides, it would be much funnier if Bart and Eleanor got together.
Maddy – weren’t they all in pajamas? That seems so un-Eleanorlike.
Aria – Rufus and Lily were all that we could talk about last night. But I hope that they don’t throw them together all quick and neat – I think it would be much more interesting to have Lily have to choose again as an older woman between money and love. Sigh.
oh my goodness. amazing episode… but… i HAVE to know what dress blair was wearing during christmas eve. the kind of sparkly gold one… she was wearing a red headband with it as well…whatever that dress is, i MUST have it. PLEASE tell me if you have any idea!!! thanks!
This was deffinatly not my favorite episode. The absense of Nate and Chuck made for a pretty dull one.
I definately have to agree on the absense of Chuck… Nate though I find boring sooo I really could care less if he is in any more episodes at all. (Now if you ask my opinion on the book than Nate would be one of my favorites and I root for him and Blair all the way…the show I am definately a B/C shipper.)
As for Lily… she better not go for the money. Rufus was supposed to be hers all along and though we only love Alison for the fact that she helped make Dan… she serves no purpose now and I am glad she is going away.
[...] friends were mocking me during last week’s episode because I mentioned that I thought it would be really hard to have a lot of money at Christmas. [...]
OMG! DAN AND SERENA ARE MY LIFE!
I LOVE THEM.
vanessa- well i hate her. shes just getting in the way & no one likes her.
btw. lily and bart.. thats so random. lily told serena&erik that she wasnt going to marry him, so i hope she won’t.
*dan and serena are my favs. i love them with my life.
&BIANCA i agree that Gilmore Girls was amazing! but Gossip Girl just jumped to the top of my list.. :]
