‘Pulp Friction‘ is one of my favorite Gilmore Girls episodes. I love it when there is any ‘theme’ involved – whether it’s a crazy event in Stars Hollow or just something Lorelai or Rory puts together because they felt like it. In this episode, the party is not put on by a Gilmore girl, but rather is a celebration of Finn’s birthday.

Robert asks Rory to be his date for Finn’s birthday (see yesterday’s interview with Nick Holmes aka Robert Grimaldi) and, seeing as how Logan was dating another girl, Rory accepts. The theme of the party: Quentin Tarantino. Rory seems to be glowing about it – whether from the prospect of the date or at payback for Logan, I’ll leave that up to you.
The party is as decked out as we have come to expect. Rory dresses as Gogo Yubari, in homage to the Kill Bill movies. And making good use of her old Chilton uniform. Here’s the Kill Bill scene where Gogo fights Black Mamba:
Here’s Rory and Robert arriving to Finn’s party – Logan has his own date too, and seems a lot more jealous of Rory than she does of him (see, more jealousy!). What do you think – does Rory make a good Gogo?:
If you love this episode, check out more scenes from the Quentin Tarantino party (where Logan shows how jealous he is):

I´m sorry, but do you really think it´s approriate to post that video on here? I´m not sure but don´t you think that it´s a little bit to much for all the younger kids who love GG? I´m 26 myself, I´ve seen the Kill Bill movies several times but personally I believe that a lot of young kids come here to check out everything about GG and Kill BIll is not appropriate to be seen for kids under 18 – at least this is in Germany. I do not want to cause any hard feelings, it really is a question though…

I am not sure if that comment was to me, since I commented before, or to the blog owner. Either way, I thought I’d leave a reply.
Personally, I think it is up to parents to filter what their children who are underage are viewing. I don’t think anyone should have to filter blog entries just because someone under 18 might be browsing, rather parents should be filtering the “bad” stuff. I am a blogger, so maybe I have a different perspective.

No, Sara, it wasn´t directed to you :)
And you are right that parents should filter what their kids are seeing. That´s why I wrote it as a question. The thing is: if parents have had a look at this site, they know from the past nothing “bad” is shown on here and they probably allowed their kids to come to gilmoregirlsnews.com. All I´m trying to say is that Kill Bill is pretty violent and that GG is attrackting a lot of younger ones.

I see. I can see your point then. The blogger normally doesn’t post adult type things here, that is true.
On another note, though, the video helped me learn who Rory was in that episode. I actually never knew who she was supposed to be. I am 26 as well, though, so that video is obviously appropriate for me to watch. :o)

lol. Ok, so it was for “Educational Reasons” (I´m a teacher, I can tell… :D ) and for you it was absolutely appropriate to watch.
Btw, where are you from? In Germany it´s already 10.15 am, so that´s why I´m up.

Haha, nice. I used to be like that during University :-P My students probably would be happy if I was sleeping during the day. My boss wouldn´t though. :D

Re: comments about the video, I usually do put warnings for things that are overly adult in nature, but felt that in this case you couldn’t understand her outfit without that scene. I will consider next time putting a violence warning. Thanks for that reminder!!

I never noticed Rory holding that weapon at the party before. I should watch it again. :) I think Rory does make a good Gogo but she doesn’t look nearly as evil as the real Gogo.

Is it just me or is Rory’s skirt much shorter than it was when she was attending Chilton? I think she grew. or altered.
