There’s been lots of rumors going around since David Beckham joined the MLS that his contract has an option to buy out the Los Angeles Galaxy and/or enter management after his playing career his over. However, the Sunday Mirror sees a different plan in David’s future–that he and Simon Fuller, the manager of Victoria and the Spice Girls–start-up an expansion team in Miami.
Honestly, it’s a move that makes tons of sense. Apparently David isn’t interested in the management side of things, but would like to own his own team one day.
“Beckham does not want to go into management when his playing career ends and is now focused on owning a club. Simon Fuller is a clever man and believes there is a lot of money to be made as football continues to expand in the US,” the Mirror’s source said.
They think Miami is perfect because of its large Latino and British populations, great weather and strong community. Why doesn’t Miami already have a team?
