Rupert Grint to play Eddie the Eagle?

Now, here’s an interesting new project that Rupert Grint is rumored to be in – a biopic of Eddie the Eagle.

Now, who’s this Eddie the Eagle person? Here’s more information:

he was working as a plasterer in Cheltenham when he represented Britain at the 1988 Winter Olympics in the ski-jumping competition. He finished last in both the 70m and 90m events, but somehow was embraced by the world as the ultimate underdog and arrived back at Heathrow to a crowd of 10,000 fans, a 25-strong police escort and a whole new life of private jets, personal appearances and a Top 50 single, Fly Eddie Fly.

Apparently, Eddie’s first choice was Brad Pitt, which would have been interesting, but I think Rupert will do an amazing job – don’t you?
