Russell Brand talks Britney Spears

Russell Brand, who will be hosting the VMAs, is busy promoting the show and naturally everyone wants to know all about Britney Spears, especially since they filmed the promo commercials together.

As far as the commercials are concerned, Russell was a little distracted by the elephant that co-starred with them:

“No, In spite of, it may have seemed somehow constructed but I assure you it wasn’t. Britney and I just met, I was a little bit late to meet Britney, because there was an Elephant, and I was obviously transfixed by the elephant and it’s terrifying vagina, once I dealt with that, all I mean was, looked at it and I understood it, I didn’t do anything-I didn’t say ‘Oh hello, cheeky!’ I dealt with the elephant just by going ‘Are you alright..’ and then I came over to deal with Britney Spears, now there was no time for any script so Britney Spears going, ‘Oh I think you are Russell Brown.’ That was just her legitimate. Similarly, LL Cool Jay thinks I am called insultingly Russell Bland and uh Pete Wentz thinks I am simply a ba*tard.”

As for the much-talked about but still highly secretive details of Britney Spears opening the VMAs this year, Russell has confirmed that she definitely won’t be singing, but that it will be some kind of skit:

“She’s not serving canapés or doing a bizarre haircut on herself! She’s not performing, but she’s certainly doing [the show] in a professional capacity.

“I might get the opportunity to pinch her back in revenge for the trailer. I know at some point I will try and pinch her!”
