Salma Hayek To Appear On '30 Rock'

Ugly Betty executive producer Salma Hayek will be on TV again tonight, but it won’t be alongside America Ferrera. She will instead be appearing in tonight’s episode of 30 Rock.

Now, any of you who have read Ugly Betty News for a while must know that I have mixed feelings about this. I love Hayek. I think she’s a very good actress, has some pretty sharp business savvy, and of course, she’s quite easy on the eyes.

Yet, at the same time, I have this irrational, visceral hatred for all things 30 Rock. As you know, every awards show in Hollywood that has television categories for the last couple of years has gone like this:

America Ferrera is certain to receive a nomination as a comedy actress.

She is certain to lose the actual award to Tina Fey. After about the 20th time that this happened, I learned to hate 30 Rock. The love for it seems to be some kind of hip, intellectual inside joke.

I told you my hatred was irrational, but it’s real.

Anyway, Hayek will appear as the nurse of Jack’s mother (an his girlfriend). I have no doubt it’s going to be hilarious.

I guess I’ll record it to watch later. But I’m going to hit mute every time Tina Fey is on the screen. ;)
