Saturday is Record Store Day and MORE

Saturday should prove to be a great day for music. First of all, it is Record Store Day! Check this post for all stores having special free shows (there are some good ones!!!). But wait, there’s more. Here’s what else is going on Saturday. My top choices are starred:

  • *One of my new favorite bands, Deleted Scenes, will be at The Studio at Webster Hall with The Life and Times and Robots and Empire. Seriously, check these guys out, they are great.
  • Steve Kimock’s Crazy Engine, featuring Steve Kimock, an amazing guitarist, will be at B.B. King’s (tickets)
  • *The Subjects, Cymbals Eat Guitars, George Lewis Jr., and Glass Ghost are at The Red Door Space (140 w 24th st. between 6th and 7th Ave. in Manhattan) for a surprise party! And, it’s only $5!
  • *The Appleseed Cast and An Horse are playing two shows at Mercury Lounge (early and late) (tickets)
  • *African Kora player Toumani Diabate is at (le) Poisson Rouge with Jenny Lin (tickets)
  • Lucero and Titus Andronicus are at Music Hall of Williamsburg (tickets)
  • The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is at Santos Party House for the early show (tickets)
  • Lord Finesse, Grand Pubah, Theo Parish, and Eamon Harkin are at Santos Party House for the late show (tickets)
