Sanjaya Malakar said good-bye to American Idol tonight. He sang “Something to Talk About” as the show closed and changed the words to “Let’s give them something to talk about – other than hair.” Oh Sanjaya, we talked about more than your hair!!!! That was clever and classy and I know that I will miss him. It was really a love-hate relationship that I had with this contestant and I was a little saddened by his departure but the show must go on.

I was really sad to see him go….his today’s performance was great, one of his best, yesterday he was probably nervous. I didn’t vote for him yesterday because I didn’t want people to be mean to him more. I hope the haters are happy now….please don’t be mean to him when he gets out. I hope everyone realizes, it was his fans like me who kept him in not VFTW or Stern. Sanjaya you are a hero….just follow your dreams.
Yeah, his performance tonight was actually better than last night’s. Isn’t that sad? Oh well. I’m hoping he gets picked up for some teen show or something. Such a cutie!
Definitely tears. This kid made the show worth watching every week. For sheer entertainment none of the other contestants can touch him. Hope to hear a lot more from him in the near future. Good luck Sanj!
I was sad to see him go.I am also glad to see him go because I was tired of the hurtful news surrounding Sanjaya.
Ryan did a god job by standing with him while the video played.Sanjaya will be around and maybe in a few years he will on a Show like leno and will say what was I thinking when he is shown clips of his hair styles from American Idol!!
He definitely was entertaining and I, too, was glad to see Ryan being there for him. Poor sweetie.
Well finally he is going home. Now maybe things will settle down. I must say I wil miss him. Did I miss something was the croud cheering for him or what? Can somebody help me out with this? I am confused.
I don’t know what to think about the crowd response last night. I know they were cheering when Blake sat down but I’m not sure about the rest – no one seemed thrilled about Lakisha this week either so I think we heard apathy more than cheering or booing. Sad…
