I posted this as a comment on one of the posts here. But I’m going to repost it as a post because your privacy is important and we need your help.
My name is Aaron Brazell and I am the Technology guy behind this blog and the rest of the blogs in the b5media network. It would seem, from reports, that some readers are gaining access to email addresses and IP addresses from other readers. Naturally, this is a huge concern for us.
We are working with Leora to discover the security issue that is being reported. Unfortunately, we cannot duplicate the issue right now. If anyone comes across an issue where you can see an IP address or email address of another commenter, please help my team out by forwarding the evidence to support@b5media.com. Your assistance in this will help us close the issue. Thanks in advance for your cooperation as we take the privacy of readers extremely seriously.

Although there has been security issues most of the blogger have been respectful of the privacy of other bloggers with the exception of two individals

They took the liberty to use other people IDs and also post the email on other sites.. I advised them agianst it , but htey took it to another level, so all ia fair game.
However I also do not appreciate comment being taken off slectively because Leora agrees with some and n to with other…In short teh blo gis composed of 3 sorry individuals who give a lot of comic to some of us
I think that when certain indivduals tramp over right sof others they should be banned from the site because the create a privacy risk for every single person on here.

Amy, !!!! is not a name. Anybody can use that I was the one who posted the email yesterday using “!!!!” but I guess today someone is using that name. I don’t like it when people get blamed for something I did.
Btw…I’m sorry for what I did.
At first I didn’t notice someone elses name in my browser as I was focused on posting my comment. Usually MY name and adress appear automatically on the browser.So I don’t usually worry about retyping it in everytime I comment. THE NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS were already on the browser but it WASN’T MY name or address. I didn’t RETREIVE them then TYPE them in myself! Someone else made that happen. My posting under another name was purely an accident.
I’m sure others made the same accident. I have no idea how someone elses name came up on my browser instead of my own anme and e-mail address.

Actually Jennifer named the owner of the email address it was Miapocca who first posted Amy’s email but she didn’t say whose it was…and I got the feeling Jennifer wanted to make it clear it was not her email address since Miapocca was suggesting it was jennifer’s
I didn’t even realise what was going on.
I thought that the person who’s name was on my browser must be the one PLAYING around. I’ve never read any laws / rules about how to write comments on these sites. I’ve never bothered with the internet for this type of thing before. I posted the address as in reaction to it turning up on my browser. I thought that person exposed their name on purpose. I thought I was doing the right thing by reporting it. I didn’t think to do an e-mail. btw I’ve never sent an e-mail before either. I only know how to receive them. Can someone tell me where I can read these internet LAWS you people keep going on about?
I think we should be all helping to work out WHO is responsible for doing this. And YES I WAS, with my limited vocabulary skills, trying to make it clear that it wasn’t my e-mail address.

I too had my e-mail address exposed. I too am a little pissed off.
