Selena Gomez has decided to forego being a solo artist and wants to form her own band. Sounds like fun!
“I’m going to be in a band — no Selena Gomez stuff,” she told MTV News last week. “I’m not going to be a solo artist. I think that I don’t want my name attached to it.”
So what kind of music will the band play? The album is set to have a pop/rock feel and Selena wants to play instruments on some of the tracks. “When I do the tour and stuff, I would like to do maybe a section on the piano or on guitar or on drums,” Selena says…
“I basically want to make music that is fun and that parents and kids can jump around to and have a good time to,” she continues. “I will be singing, and I’m learning drums and playing electric guitar.”
Sweetie Selena also wants to steer clear from competing with her BFFs and boyfriend, Nick Jonas. “You know the [Jonas] boys and people like Demi [Lovato] are my friends, so I definitely would not copy or do anything that they did. They’re really good, obviously, at what they’re doing, so I’m going to let them have that. But it’s also just kind of fun to learn things.”

she is steering clear from miley by doing the band thing. i think it would be cool to see selena in a band, actually i always been hoping that cause she so punk rock and cool. so go selena you rock girl, and um keep doing ur thing, i just hope you keep acting b/c i love your acting. and i just want to let everyone know that it is normal for some disney channel stars to start a music carrer so if selena is copying miley than miley copied ashley tisdale and ashley tisdale copy raven and raven copied whoever came b4 her and started a music carrer. it normal for disney stars to start a music carrer

Hi guys! I’m Selena Gomez here. I just do the acting, not the singing. And for all my fans that agree that that I should stick to acting, it makes me feel good about myself and gain self- confidence. As for other fans who want me to do the singing, I’m not sticking to that. I’m sorry, but singing is not how I realize the person I am.
