In a telephone interview with Star Telegram, Wizards of Waverly Place stars Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone chat about how fame has changed their life. Little did they know 2 years ago how much things would change and what a hit their Disney Channel series would be.
Selena on her fame: "I think I started to realize [things had changed] when people were coming up to my house. And knocking on the door and leaving letters. We actually had to move to a house that had a gate around it."
Jennifer on fame: "I live in sort of the trifecta of fandom. I live right in between [fellow Disney star] Demi [Lovato] and Miley. . . . So now [fans] stop at my house in between those two. The thing that gets me the most is when people start crying when they meet you. It’s really flattering and very, very sweet, but it’s definitely mind-blowing."
Selena on her fans: "I love my fans. I think my show and I are very blessed, and I love how well it’s doing and the success it’s getting. I’m happy with [the attention]. It’s still weird to me that people know my name, but I still consider myself very lucky."
