Earlier this week HarperCollins announced that Candace Bushnell (author of the Sex and the City phenom) has signed a deal to write two YA novels focusing on a teen Carrie Bradshaw.
Of course it’s bound to turn into a television or movie deal, but when asked if she’d want to sign on, Selena Gomez said to count her OUT.
“That’s not really the audience I’m going for,” Selena said to E!Online at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party last night. “I mean, my mom loves the show and it’s a very popular show, but that’s not the direction I’m looking to take at this time.”
I bet Miley Cyrus would jump at the chance, she’s already said that the Hannah Montana characters are so similar!
see that’s why i love selena. she is such a good influence on younger girls out there. she has a very good head on her shoulders and doesn’t try to grow up too fast like others in the bussiness.

Selena is graet and doesn’t do things just to create contraversy. She will go far in her career. I bought the movie Another Cinderella Story and she is a great dancer/singer/actress, all this without posting provocative pics online!

And I don’t know that it’s such a bad thing. By the time the book is written and published, the TV show or movie in the works and filming, these girls could be in their 20s. It’s not like it’s filming NOW.
