Tom Cruise’s career is on fire right now! Several studios are vying for him to be in their movies. In fact, there are at least five suitors trying to get Cruise to say yes. I love it!
Last week, it was announced that Tom Cruise was being linked to star in “The Matarese Circle” with Denzel Washington (hubba hubba). Cruise has had a couple of rough years, but has turned things around. Studios are now saying that their enthusiasm for Cruise has returned and that is such good news for those of us who love Tom Cruise movies!
Here are the top three candidates where we may see Cruise star in:
- “The Matarese Circle” with Denzel Washington.
- “The Tourist” with Charlize Theron. A rewrite was sent in this week from Christopher McQuarrie, who also co-wrote and produced “Valkyrie”.
- “Motorcade”, a thriller “that pits the U.S. president against terrorists who commandeer his motorcade on the streets of Los Angeles”.
Other projects he has been linked to include: Check them out below.
- “Lost for Words”, which is a “working title romantic comedy in which Cruise would play an actor who gets into a love triangle with his beautiful Chinese director and the filmmaker’s jealous translator.”
- “Wichita”, where Cruise could potentially team up with Cameron Diaz. He would play an undercover agent who gets thrown together with a woman who has men troubles.
- “The Hardy Men”, which we heard about the other day.
- “The Champions”, which is “a feature adaptation of the British TV series about a team of government agents rescued from a plane crash in the Himalayas by an advanced civilization and given superhuman abilities.”
How many films will we see Tom Cruise in this year? Studios are predicting two. Sounds good to me! I am very excited about “The Matarese Circle”. I think I am going to pick up a copy of the book and read it first.
Cruise has a lot going on and I am so happy to see him making great movies.

ı am a fan and ı am really happy for him now
Julie,
The studios are?
Your source?
I believe the original source is Variety, tyler. I read the article in yesterday’s edition.
Personally, I’d like to see Tom do the Matarese Circle. Ludlum is an amazing author and if it the book can be translated to a screenplay properly, it could be an excellent film. The Tourist doesn’t seem as interesting to me. However, each project has really talented directors linked, so that’s encouraging. I wonder who would be top billed in the Matarese Circle…..Denzel or Tom. Both are A-list and neither generally takes second billing. It’ll be interesting to see how that’s handled if the project comes to fruition.
Tom is above all a talented actor and I think after the events of the past few years where his personal life, rather than his professional life was highlighted, rather than let the studio’s come to him, he’s taken the bull by the horns and gone to them (According to Variety). Smart move on his part! Tom is a pro at promoting himself and his films. I’m sure a quality project will come out of this.
Tyler – at the bottom of my post it says “Source”, so….that’s my source and Variety is very reliable.
The studios are Universal, 20th Century Fox, Fox 2000, etc.
I promise I didn’t make this story up.
Matarese Circle sounds good, how great to have Tom and Denzel in the same movie, interesting thought CR, about who would get top billing.
I am so happy for Tom, he deserves it. I think after Valkyrie’s performance inspite of all the odds, studios have realised that Tom Cruise will always be Cruise couch jumping and all.
Malterese especially sounds delicious. Tom Cruise and Denzel washington is a hot match.
I cannot see TC passing up that chance with Denzel… sounds great. But as most of you here know, I will support Tommy in anything.;)and sources…who are the sources anyway?:)
annie – i can’t wait to see Tom and Denzel in a movie together. I hope it happens.
Lauren – I am very happy for him too. He can come jump on my couch anytime. I wouldn’t mind. My kids do it all the time.
Kelly – lol, sources.
I really hope one of these works out. I love Tom Cruise and I want to see him back on top where he belongs.
Me too Jeanne!
