Shawn Stockman Replies to "If I Were a Boy" - Audio

Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, replied to Beyoncé’s new single, “If I Were a Boy” by making a guy’s version of the song and entitling it “If You Were a Boy.”

So, basically he’s saying that Beyoncé should just shut up with that song. Interesting. I think in a way, it was kind of immature to even respond with such a song. And it takes away from Beyoncé’s original message. Sure, not every guy is going to be a jerk, but some are. And not every guy is going to be great but others will. So really, neither song conveys how all guys so I see no point to making another song that doesn’t relate to every man on the planet. What do you think of Shawn’s response?

I love boys 2 men, but I do agree the song doesn’t seem to be replying justifiably towards beyonces version
Little boys act the way b described in ” boy” so if your a grown man, that song doesn’t apply. So for him to use boy and man in his lyrics is a bit contradictory.

That answers your own point. It’s setting the record straight. Beyonce’s version doesn’t relate to every man on the planet either but it was still released. This song is just to tell girls that there are reasons why we do things and not all guys are jerks.
