Remember Kelis? Lady who sang the “Milkshake” song?
Well, just in case you were dying to hear her thoughts on…well, anything, she is now saying that she believes Rihanna is just copying her look. Because, you know, she’s such a leader in the industry. Here we go:
“You know what. Listen, it’d be totally ridiculous for me to not acknowledge it if someone asks. The reality is, what is she like 20? I mean, what else is she supposed to do? I mean honestly. I don’t have any animosity at all whatsoever. That’s what she’s supposed to do.”
I’m not completely convinced that Rihanna jacked her style. OK, they both have short hair. I know a lot of people think Rihanna tries too hard but I just don’t know. I’m just not convinced that she said “hey, who can I get inspiration from? I know, Kelis.” I don’t believe that.

You are more stupid to think she didn’t. Its so obvious that Rihanna copied Kelis’ style. People just being delusional and dont wanna give Kelis credit for Rihanna’s “supposed 2 be edgy” look.

Rihanna hasnt made ANY IMPACT in music or fashion like Kelis. Lemme refresh YOU HATERS memory.. Kelis cut her hair in “BOSSY” music video in 2006, which is 3 years ago. A year later, Rihanna cuts her hair, starts to dress like Kelis, and trying to look like her.
The point is Kelis stated that she was paying homage to Salt n’Pepa but with her own twist callin it “Salt n’ Pepa 2010″. Rihanna just straight up copied Kelis’ style and not even giving her credit. Kelis made a bigger impact than Rihanna because if it wasn’t for Kelis, Rihanna would still be biting Beyonce.
Its funny how people acting like Kelis is irrelevant. Friendly reminder, Kelis is much more relevant and much more respected than your fave Rihanna.

Not many BLACK artists can say they worked with icons like Bjork, Moby or Annie Lennox and toured with U2, Britney Spears and Coldplay.
Rihanna WILL NEVER come close to Kelis’ sense of style…NEVER!
All Rihanna is good for is copying, she’ll never be as original as kelis nor as fly as Kelis. Rihanna is a wannabe hard chick, a poser, a gimmick. Kelis doesnt take that HERPES SMUT seriously because she know Rihanna is a joke.

Okay first of all, your headline is LIES. If you watched the interview Kelis didn’t accuse Rihanna of jacking her style. The interviewer asked her the question posted by a fan. She simple addressed it. Furthermore, just google “Kelis Was Here Album Cover” from ‘06. Enough said. Rihanna totally jacked Kelis’ style. It’s right there in your face. Had it not been for Kelis she’d still have long hair and would be jacking Beyonce instead. Get your life together Snarky Gossip. HARLEM!!!!

Its funny how you ppl are saying that kelis had more of an impact with her short.after Rihanna cut her hair every black girl I knew was cutting their hair. LOL, when kelis had it no one paid much attention to lmao, everyone still had their long/big weaves.

I love ri ri, but I have to admit that she’s a biter. I noticed when she first chanaged up the look from the original beyonce look. I was like, hum? that hair looks like kelis, but i didn’t make a big deal out of it. Ri is young and finding herself and is going to copy, poin blank. She could give Kelis some credit though.
