America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn spent the day together in Brooklyn hitting up local discount stores. Of course there was one missing from the bunch and I think the world would stop spinning if Blake was ever caught in a discount store.
According to sources, the former costars, didn’t look like themselves because they were dressed down in jeans and wore no makeup. They were reported as having ran errands in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn. One store they managed to hit up was Winn Discount, which sells household items from cleaning products to cosmetics and all three left carrying bags – so it was actually a shopping trip.
I find it refreshing that such admired young actresses are setting such a positive example by showing young girls they don’t have to wear the $1,000 jeans or carry the $10,000 bags to be cool.
In a time when our economy is in such a mess, I think it’s most important that our youth recognize that saving money and shopping discount stores can be cool.
I do wish Blake would hit up some discount or “normal” stores. She’s constantly talking about all her high fashion clothes and handbags!!
