We have all seen Katie Holmes grow up and change right before our very eyes. She went from the giggly teen on Dawson’s Creek to a grown woman who married one of the biggest movie stars and then had a baby! Along with all those changes and aging, comes a change in your skin care regimen.
Most woman had issues with their skin as a teen – between problems with acne and uneven skin tone. Your main concern was clearing up your skin, not dealing with wrinkles or what to do as a kid to have great skin as an adult.

Most people don’t realize it at the time, but your twenties are when your skin is at its best. This is usually when your skin is clear and you have a firm, supple complexion. One thing woman in their twenties need to remember, is that the clock is ticking and you need to have some preventative measures in place, so you can have that great looking skin longer.
Here are some tips to keeping that youthful glow around a little longer:
1. Protect your skin from the sun – As a teen, you may not have realized or cared about the effects of the sun on your skin. Now that you are a little older (and wiser) it’s necessary to use a product that has SPF in it, such as a lotion, to keep your skin protected from the sun.
2. Cleansing – Find a gentle cleanser that is just right for your skin type. Most woman in their twenties do not have issues with acne or wrinkles, so a light and gentle cleanser is enough.
3. Toning – This is one step many woman forget about, but it can have huge long and short term benefits. If you have very oily skin, toning is a must as it helps absorb some of the oils in your skin. If you have very dry skin, you need to be careful as to the type of toner you purchase. Using the wrong toner for your skin type, can cause excessive dryness.
4. Moisturizing – It doesn’t matter is you have oily skin or dry skin, a good basic moisturizer is a must. You can choose just the right moisturizer for your skin type and it can have benefits for years to come. A good idea, as I mentioned above, is to combine your moisturizer with sun protection. It’s one step, with 2 great benefits.
Establishing a basic skin care regimen in your twenties, will set you up for great skin in your thirties. I know we have seen Katie go through some skin issues when she was pregnant with Suri, but other than that, she seems to have great skin tone and texture. I imagine that she has a basic daily routine and realizes the long term benefits of taking care of her skin.

In fairness, Katie actually had a baby and then married one of the biggest movie stars, not the other way around. Nothing wrong with that, of course, so why should there be any need to “tweek” the facts?
LOL Welkin. I wasn’t trying to tweek the facts. It didn’t even occur to me what order it happened in.
omg, really ?
Oh “OF COURSE” there’s nothing wrong with that. Got to love the “OF COURSE” — how dare anyone imply there might be a moral implication in being unwed and having a child. Got to love the times we live in.
