It’s summer time and celebrities like Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani have embarked on their summer tours. Ever wonder how they’re able to keep their skin looking fresh and clean while they’re on the road?
You can keep yourself looking good while you’re away as well!
Traveling doesn’t have to be scary. If you’re worried about being able to take care of your skin on the road, there are a some things you can do to make sure you stay looking great. Here are a few tips you can use to make traveling a little easier on your skin when you’re not in the convenience of your home:
- Drink water: Making sure you stay hydrated is one of the most important things you could do for your skin. It carries out impurities from your body, clearing out your pores in the process. A recommended amount of water per day would be about 8-10 glasses, so make sure you pack enough water!
- Stay Organized: I don’t know about you, but nothing’s worse about a trip than finding out that you are so unprepared. In advance, make sure you have any products that you might be needing while you’re away. Staying organized is key. You’ll need to keep track of everything so make sure you’ve put aside a few special bags for your skin care products and makes sure you’ll readily have access to them. That way, you won’t be discouraged from searching through your big suitcase to find what you need.
- Choose Products That Suit You: It’s important to know what kind of skin you have before packing any of your products and hitting the road. Make sure you’ve got exactly what you need. For example, if you have sensitive skin, go with products that are gentle on the skin. A few days before your trip, you’ll want to test out the products to make sure they’re safe and that you don’t have any type of allergic reaction to them. No one wants their trip tainted by an awful breakout!
- Don’t Touch Your Face: Keep your fingers away from your face while you’re traveling. Touching your skin can actually send bacteria deeper into your pores, which can cause acne. Plus, when you’re in contact with a bunch of people, their germs and bacteria can be transported to you so it’s better if you refrain from spreading those germs to your face.
- Clean Your Glasses or Sunglasses: Whether you’re wearing a pair of shades or glasses, it’s important to clean them regularly. Doing so will remove the oil from your face and the specs, allowing your skin to breathe better, reducing your chances of getting pimples.
- Eat Healthy: Eating vegetables (especially ones with fiber) can help keep up the appearance of healthy looking skin. When you can, make sure to sneak in as many healthy foods as you can such as carrots and apples while you’re on the road.
- Remove Makeup Before Going to Bed: The less amount of time you have makeup on, the better. As soon as you get to your hotel (or wherever you are) it’s best if you remove it. Makeup can clog your pores. Your skin will thank you as soon as you allow it to breathe!
- Be Careful in the Sun: It’s super important that you’re not over-doing it with your sun intake. If you’re planning to be outside for a while, make sure you’ve packed some sunblock and moisturizers. The sun can really drain your skin of it’s moisture, which it needs to stay healthy and vibrant.
