David Beckham has been making the media rounds lately, doing to best to assure football fans he is excited to be returning to the Los Angeles Galaxy and dedicated to the team and to the MLS. On Friday, he sat down with Sky Sports in the UK to talk about his decision to stay with AC Milan and what he hopes to accomplish in the second half of the Galaxy season.
“When I had it in my mind to try and go on loan and to try to stay in the England team, I knew I had to stay at this level,” David said. “The only way to do that was to try and go to a big club. They don’t get much bigger than AC Milan.”
I understand why David made the decision he made, but he better make a significant contribution to MLS soccer immediately if he wants to be completely forgiven by North American fans. I’m sure that’s his goal. I’m excited to see Becks back on North American soil, that’s for sure!
