Never content to miss an opportunity to receive more attention, Slade Smiley has started blogging on BravoTV.com on his unique thoughts on this season’s Real Housewives of Orange County, which he is now a part of, thanks to his strategic partnership/eternal love with housewife Gretchen Rossi. I just want to welcome Slade into the blogging community, for he will no doubt read this when it shows up on the 1700 Google Alerts he has on his own name. You’re one of us now! Slade’s writing style is very similar to that of a commenter who always shows up to defend him and who’s name I’ve seen on other gossip sites. How curious!
There is a particular word for Slade’s 6 page blog post. The word for that is hilarious. Can you think of any other reaction to the following passage, in which he rips on Tamra for throwing her daughter, who had just finished performing in a school musical, a “red-carpet” party?
Tamra starts off with her obsession, a red carpet event and being in the press. My advice would be do not get your children in a place where they hunger for the spot light. It can only lead them to disappointment. I know it was all done in good fun, but I think the last thing you should be encouraging is for kids to buy into the desire for celebrity. The salacious stories written by tabloids are always so trashy and hurtful – trust me I know. There is a reason my kids are never on the show – I figured out very quickly it was an environment I didn’t want them in.
Trust me, Slade, the one thing we are all confident you are familiar with is an overwhelming desire to be famous. Much of the blog post rips on Vicki. Maybe Slade asked to borrow money from her and she said no. He does however, offer her some business advice.
Vicki will probably continue to be the same rude, self-absorbed work-a-holic she has always been. It’s her superiority complex that gets the best of her. Vicki, there is a reason you always look like you’re losing your mind. Here is a tip, work smarter not harder. Everyone else does. There are so many people who have achieved such great success financially and still managed to have a life with friends and family and they don’t feel the need to ridicule people along the way. Please don’t assume because you choose to work so much that you are any better than anyone else or that you have accomplished anything that great. It’s all about the priorities. Sorry, but I am still waiting to be impressed. We also don’t really care about how many watches you buy yourself.
And yes, he does address the child support issue, which he denies as Internet rumor. If TMZ didn’t post the actual letter from the audit done on his account and if he were not previously arrested this year for skipping out, I wouldn’t believe it either. But, he doesn’t address either of those points.
Now the latest is that I am a deadbeat dad owing $80,000 in back support and that I spend no time with my terminally ill son. People are unbelievable. If that were the truth, I would be in jail! Really, come on!
The rest of the blog post is drumming up more attention for the Tamra v Gretchen storyline. I call it a storyline because that’s exactly what it is. While I do believe that the fight shown on last week’s episode was authentic and that the issues between these two were also authentic, continuing to talk about it like this is just another way to get ratings. For one, Slade says in his post that Gretchen didn’t want to go to the cuff party but instead went to “support Lynne.” That’d be great, except they were contractually obligated to attend and everyone had to show up.
Anyway, I look forward to reading Slade’s recaps every week. Do you guys think he’ll follow me on Twitter now that he’s a part of my blogging community!?

Don’t people usually get PAID to promote a celebrity because it’s their JOB? So Slade promotes Gretchen and himself for free since he is claiming to have zero income and sugar mama buys him gifts and lets him live in her home. There is something very wrong with this picture.
I understand Slade is a less than perfect individual, but there was a lot of truth in that blog post. Don’t disregard the message just because of the messenger. In its entirety it was a legitimately interesting read.
I thoroughly enjoyed two points:
1) That he bashed the ladies for being nasty to each other, which reminded me of the pot calling the kettle black; and
2)The child support issue is unreal. I REALLY hope that Andy calls Gretchen/Slade on this at the reunion show. Apparently, Slade has filed motions seeking a reduction in his amount owed, but that does not mean that the $80K is FALSE.
Slimey’s blog post showed how truly delusional this man is.
I just read his blog and he tells half truths on everything. I think he is the douchebag. Him going off on Tamara because she had a red carpet runway for the kids. He doesnt even see his or pay the support. He is trying to turn the tables and it just makes him look like a jerk. They both must be in lala land. When you read all the comments, they is not one negative one. Again bravotv is blocking undesirable ones. They only want the public to see their point of view.
Dead on Maria. I figured that was going to happen and this morning I fired up the computer to see Gretchen’s angelic-like blog. It was clear that Slade was trying to do her dirty work. He has to protect the cash cow of the family I suppose.
So Slimey’s bog might get removed similar to the mud-slinging blogs that Gretchen and Tamra wrote after the reunion last year? Interesting…

I have a question for slade. Mr. Smiley you say that you were unaware of the arrest warrent and that it is “unfortuante that someone would try to publicly defame” you, or something along those lines. Just wondering but what did you think they would do about you being 10,000 behind in payments to your ex wife? or girlfried or “baby mama” whatever you prefer to call her. I think its shameful you would issue such a self centered statement. I mean Jesus your child is sick you should willing give you’r child everything you make. Im sure his medical bills are enormous but surely you can work something out. Be thankful you live in a country where you still have the oppertunity to get him life saving medical treatment. Dont be a dead beat dad. dead beats blow. you blow. have remorse for screwing you kid out of 10,000, smuck.

You know, I found this blog from none other than –> google. Watching most shows on Bravo is a guilty pleasure. I mean, who are we kidding? However, this recent season of “Real Housewives- OC” is disturbing in a way that even surpasses the VH1 dating show bonanza. These are real people?
Slade is slimey-smarmy sociopath, in my opinion. Most likely some sort of sex-addict, as well. Who the hell IS this douche bag and why does Bravo keep putting him on camera? He’s “poor”? Wasn’t it just a few years ago that he managed to get a spot on Season 1 of RH-OC? And, he wasn’t even married to that girl? Wasn’t he portrayed as that girl’s (the one from Season 1 – the brunette, Jo?) *sugar daddy*? Ew, this man is disgusting.

Slade is a very handsome and hard working guy. He’s confident in himself and people seem to dislike him for this. Bloggers make rude comments about him because he’s an attractive man and has experienced a life of luxury that many of them can only dream about. Plain and simple, viewers envy him, Slade has done nothing to any of the bloggers. Does anyone know how hard he’s worked to obtain any of the accomplishments in his life? Have any of you accomplished a fraction of what he has? Misery loves company, many of you making the ridiculous comments are obviously bored and miserable with your own lives or you wouldn’t have time to be upset with Slade. This is America and we are suppose to be free to choose our career, mate, lover, passions and hobbies without the negative input of random bloggers like you. I have a solution, start enjoying your own life and leave Slade alone.
@globalbizlady–I make rude comments about Slade because he doesn’t pay his child support as verified by documentation in TMZ and Radar-on-line. And what do YOU know about Slade being a “hard-working” guy. Last time I heard Slade told the court had NO job and NO income. If that has changed, I would like to hear about it and so would Slade’s baby mama.
Him critisizing the women for talking trash yet going into 5 pages that were mostly him doing the same thing was pretty rich. Did anyone read Gretchens blog? It’s all positive, I think they are taking the good guy/bad guy routine with Slade being the bad guy. I also heard a rumor that this blog was going to get taken down and Slade would not be allowed to blog anymore.. we’ll see what happens.
