Smallville episode 8.06 “Prey“

Tonight, Smallville airs one of the season’s awaited episodes. “Prey” takes a closer look at Davis Bloome, aka Doomsday, played by Sam Witwer. In Smallville, Davis is tortured by a sense that he is turning into something horrible and he doesn’t want that, but has no control over it. I asked Sam what he thinks of this episode –

“Really the success of this story, is completely contingent upon how well we flush out the psychology of that. It’s all about asking the question, what would happen if this was happening to you or to me. Hopefully, they feel like I delivered a performance that at least scratches the surface of that issue.

I feel like, in episode six, I think we do a pretty good job. It’s ultimately for the audience to decide. But I think that, basically, we did all right. I’m not sure. I got to see it. We’ll cross our fingers.”

Sam Witwer has been doing a great job as Davis Bloome, and tonight, we might see a Doomsday, who knows. Here is a teaser of what to expect (and spoilers after the cut):

A serial killer is on the loose maims his victims by breaking their bones. Clark suspects a meteor-infected is behind the deaths, and he confronts Chloe to reveal what she knows. The friends get on each other’s nerves. Meanwhile, Davis suspects himself, and lets Chloe in on the secret.
