What is Smallville without Michael Rosenbaum? What is Clark Kent without Lex Luthor? Sorry, Tess Mercer but you just don’t cut it, Smallville’s resident villain is still the baddie LEX. And there may be hope for us yet.

Although there are no firm plans for Michael Rosenbaum to return as Lex this season, if producers have their way, you’ll likely be hearing him long before seeing him.
Hear him before seeing him? I’m OK with that, but I really want him to return. So, Michael R, please come back to make hell in Metropolis!

i really hope he comes back i think he is a great actor and the best lex luthor ever! i like tess but as they said, she just doesnt cut it i think they should bring him back for just a couple. so he can still be there but behind the scenes and tess can be his go to girl
I just feel like there is something missing in Smallville now, oh that’s right, LEX. I completely agree, i don’t get how they can leave you in a cliff hanger wondering where the hell is Lex and then not resolve the issue if he doesn’t return to settle things up i will be disappointed.
Smallville without Lex is TOOOOO BOOORING. It makes us feel like that smallville is getting getting dragged now. What a pitty, such a beuutiful ending at season 7 finale and such a boring over headed season 8 prmiere.
Withou Lex Smallville is nothing. I would rather watch heroes.

yeah, this brilliant ending to season 7, and no Lex luthor at all in the next episode, let alone never again? these new characters will not fill the void that is missing… LEX! he is what gave the the show a sick twist to it. now replacing it with a chick that we have never seen before is absolutly ridiculous. i dont see how you can recover from such a terrible mistake. I would have loved to see smallville make the big screen, but how on earth would this ever work out now.

This is becoming like X-Files!!! The show stunk without Fox Mulder. Now Smallville stinks without Lex Luthor.
personally I think that Michael Rosenbaum dose need to move on with his career as an actor because he is very talented. But at the same time I do feel that He should consider returning even if for one episode to bring some closure to the character as to what happen to Him. Plus we all know the Lex is Superman’s Biggest enemy and in the comics Lex has no knowledge of who Clark really is so if Lex Turns up that will have to be explained .

I do hope Michael Rosenbaum returns at least for one last episode right? Fans will just applaud that. The trailer for Legion/Bulletproof showed someone whose back of head looks like Lex, but… won’t that be just awesome if the producers surprise us and it’s really Michael!
Bring Michael back in Smallville, Superman without Lex has no meaning
Smallvile has for a very long time been about Clark Kent (Tom Welling’s character) and his ever so stupid-stubborn attitude towards the rest of the characters he acts with; being he thinks he knows everything! This show has no action, it’s more about dialog and the teenage growing up issues, and the butchering of the true stories of Superman, while inventing up characters that never existed in the original comic books!
Also, come on already get rid of Kristin Kreuk, the writers keep insulting us by bringing her character back too many times already!!
Folks, Lex Luther was the only interesting character of this show, and it’s a shame that these writers couldn’t mustard enough imagination and action to properly tell a good story. It would be better to quit while your way behind!

well what can i say,,,, i don’t think i can go through another year without micheal, i have always loved the character of lex,,just when you thought someone got the best of him, he came back with a vengeance,, and i love that…come on bring micheal back… there is soooooooo much story to tell and to do that without lex is robbing us as fans since we have been with you from the begining. TESS give me a break no one will every compare to lex…….. MICHEAL if you read this get your ass back on set… see you in a few weeks.

I too, agree that is just way too boring without him as Lex Luthor.
I think we all know that Oliver did not kill Lex, he cannot be dead.
After all, he is Superman’s greatest rival, and the Phoenix “Always Rises.”
To me, the villain is always the hero of the story.
I am planning on Michael Rosenbaum returning (hopefully) as a main character in Season 10.
I was also hoping that Mrs. Kent (Annette O’Toole) would be returning from Washington and also be added as a main character in Season 10.
Even if she just appeared on a five or so episodes she could still be added to the cast.
I always love the Remo Zero song for the intro, even though the band broke up.
The song still lives on…
