Have you seen that Smallville “Legion” trailer with a shot of Lex Luthor’s bald head?
Uhm… That was not Michael Rosenbaum.
Sorry to disappoint all the fans who might have thought Michael was playing cameos on Smallville, but that was just a body double, so says the man himself.
In an interview with an old friend from The Windy City Times, Michael Rosenbaum remarked that he feels it unfair to the fans that they’re not seeing the real thing.
“People think they have seen me on the show since then (when he left) but I found out they have been using body doubles to pretend that it’s me. I don’t know how fair that is to the fans.”
The big question on my mind, as on others too, is – is Michael ever going to come back to Smallville… (please, even for just an episode)?
Michael’s answer was both sad and funny.
WCT: So you don’t think you will ever come back?
Michael: No. I told the producers that I would only come back for the last episode or two if they let me wear a bald cap. I just grew my hair out.
I guess he’s had enough of being bald! It turns out, Michael had to be on set two hours before everyone, everyday, to get his head shaved. And he couldn’t even wear a hat, poor thing.
It wore out its welcome. Seven years everyday, filming in Vancouver, freezing my ass off. I couldn’t even wear a hat because my makeup would get ruined. I had to be there two hours before the crew got there to shave my head. The makeup girl was like my therapist. She knew everything about me and knew I wasn’t coming back. I am truly grateful to the show. It put me on the map. It gave me financial stability. I am able to take care of my mother’s gambling problem!
So that’s it? No cameos, no closures? Smallville producers, if you’re reading this, it is soo easy to give Michael a bald cap, so please let the man have his way and get him to say a proper goodbye to Lex Luthor.

he got spoiled with the money and now is making excuses to not return. oh well.
Smallville needed to end after season 8! Season 9 is weak! The only thing that could have saved the show was Clark becoming SUPERMAN, but that isn’t going to happen any time soon. So why torture us with season 10?! Just end it with season 9 already! Who cares if Michael Rosenbaum returns! I think they should have Krypto return, or Jonathan Kent as a Demented Ghost from hell!
