Just when we thought the Doomsday character is out of the picture for Smallville season 9, a wrestling star says he is being recast as Superman’s arch-nemesis for next year.
Matt Morgan was asked by Pain Clinic, a pro-wrestling talk show, about his auditions at Smallville (for another role). The wrestler revealed that a Smallville director wants him to play Doomsday instead. Here’s how Morgan relayed the events (as transcribed by The Geek Files):
"They had just previously cast the Doomsday character – signed, sealed, delivered, it was concrete. The director said ‘Let’s figure a way to recast Doomsday and maybe have this Matt Morgan kid play him’. In postproduction they are going to try to write around it, hopefully.
Bulky and tall at 7 feet, Morgan as Doomsday will make Clark Kent look puny. If this development pans out, this means that Smallville wants the villain around for another season. Are they going to want Doomsday to keep beating Clark Kent around? Obviously, Clark is no match for Doomsday at this point in his career as superhero. The only route I see for the story is for Smallville to tie in their story with the Superman mythos and lock Doomsday up in some ancient dungeon near the earth’s core. Otherwise, having Doomsday (and Davis Bloome) torment the young Clark in S9 is just stretching it out.
I guess we’ll find out as the plot thickens. Meanwhile, how do you feel about Doomsday returning in Season 9? What about Davis Bloome?

To tell the truth I´m not that excited… specially if CK, as it was said, is “no match for Doomsday at this point of his career as a superhero”. He´s still developping his powers so PLEASE give him a break!!! lol
