Snap This: First Photo from ‘The Avengers’ Set

Despite all of The Avengers director Joss Whedon‘s joking in his letter to fans yesterday that Marvel’s lawyers would punish him for revealing plot secrets, this very lovely photo of the new S.H.I.E.L.D. logo from the movie set has made it to the Internet for excited fans to enjoy.

Note that the actors get chairs that identify them not by name, but by character. Pictured, then, are Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo.

The movie commenced shooting in Albuquerque, NM, and will move on to Cleveland, OH, and New York City. It comes out May 4, 2012.
