It’s nothing but the best for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, who are asking their wedding guests to pony up for $200 silverware, bedazzled napkin rings, and a $1,650 coffee pot. If you’re a celebrity attendee who’s been in court lately and is strapped for cash, you could always go with the glass wisdom figurines, which are only $735. And does the publicly-available registry also reveal their wedding date?
Kim and Kris registered at Gearys in Beverly Hills, for a bevy of luxurious stuff. I’m split on this: It seems downright greedy to ask for such expensive variations on the standard place settings, glasses, and coffee prep stuff when you could get the same pieces, at comparable quality but “lesser” price, at a Williams & Sonoma. Then again, the people who have been rumored to attend — Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, Beyonce and Jay-Z — can afford these gifts. Then again, Kim can afford these gifts.
Another interesting tidbit is the wedding date listed on the registry: October 31, 2011. Although this could be Kim and Kris’ attempt at an original wedding, a source tells E! News that Halloween is just a placeholder: “That’s just a joke. They’re not announcing the real date just yet.”
