Sneak peek at upcoming Angelina Jolie interview with W magazine

Angelina Jolie breastfeeding on W magazine

While there are no further photo sneak peeks for the W magazine issue that features photos of Angelina Jolie and the Jolie-Pitt children taken by Brad Pitt, People has a preview of some of the interview Angelina gave.

One of the biggest changes Angelina made in her life, she said, is deciding to get pregnant and have children with someone, since she had only ever intended to adopt. Ironically, her desire for biological children came about when she watched Brad Pitt interacting with Maddox and Zahara – when she realized that he would never see them as being different, she said, “I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to (getting pregnant). I suddenly wanted to. It’s one of those things you can’t explain.”

According to the article, some of the photos taken by Brad are intimate to the point of baring some of her body, and she was perfectly comfortable to do so, even at just two weeks post-partum, a time when many women might prefer not to be seen in an intimate way:

“I’m with a man who’s evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful, because of the journey it has taken and what it has created. He genuinely sees it that way. So I genuinely feel even sexier.”

But my favorite part of all? When she says, “I do think that I’m in a good partnership now. I think it just needed to be the right man.”

Awww!

This issue of W can come quickly enough!

Well, I feel a lot better now – I just read the “AJ, M, Z & P hit the shops” thread. Glad to see all the lovin’ there for MZP. Wow, I missed a lot when my sister-in-law was visiting – 4 whole threads including “hotel,” “RC” and “more RC.”

OT: Leila, I got the email you sent 10/9/08. I guess you didn’t you see my post on 10/4/08 where I said I emailed you and it got kicked back to me as “This user doesn’t have a yahoo.com account?” That’s why I posted on in the hopes you would see it. Should I maybe email your aunt in Texas directly (to avoid the problems emailing – maybe because of your location?)? In the meantime, would you please read my 10/4/08 9:49 am post in the”Changeling press conference” thread?

You asked “I have a question. what’s the difference between regular mail and U.S. Postal Service express? How much does regular mail cost?” The specific answers to your questions can be found at usps.com. I think it mostly depends on how much the package weighs. Usually, regular mail costs less – except when the weight is so much that it’s cheaper to mail it express at a flat rate. And express mail gets to the location much faster than regular mail.

I lOOVVE the W interview excerpts. Angelina always gives great, honest interviews and it looks like we’re going to learn a lot more about her and her family. Brad sure comes off smelling like a dozen roses – perfect dad, perfect partner, perfect lover. (Women everywhere swoon with envy, some with resentment.) I especially like the explanation of how she came to change from ardently pro-adoption only to deciding to gift Brad with biological children.

I must say that her declaration of only adoptions was what really clicked with me, and I looked forward to Angelina being an example and role model to others. For my own reasons, I was a little disappointed that Brad didn’t support that. I was thinking what a strong drive (genetics and culturally) men and blood families have towards getting one of their own. Used to be that men could set their wives aside if they didn’t produce children, especially sons. Some died for it – see Henry VIII and his wives.

Also for my own reasons, whenever Angelina and Brad are ready to add to their family again, I hope the next additions will be adopted – maybe someone Native American/First People from the U.S., or someone from New Orleans, Latin America, older than an infant (like Pax), or siblings, or with disabilities – the ones most people don’t choose for adoption, the ones hard to place.

Are we surprised by the sort of negative reception the cover is getting in the mainstream press? I am.

I just love these two…the more i know about them the better it gets..they restore my faith that sometimes life does make the most incredible things happen through amazing people..i hope they will grow old together and keep on loving one another and adding to the goodness they have already brought into the lives of so many others.

An early Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Pittwatchers!

I’ve been having the hardest time getting on this site today. I join in everyone’s gushing over and admiration of Angelina’s picture. Brad did good. I echo everyone’s feelings. Of course, I think it’s appropriate and absolutely gorgeous, fantastic and all the other words. I love that it’s in black and white. IMO, black and white photos and movies makes them feel timeless and classic. Color has a different feeling and vibe. I like both.

I think the black and white photo makes Angelina seem softer – some people are overwhelmed with her stunning, out-of-this-world beauty in living color. (Some of them hate her for it.) She’s tired, AND looks beautiful like every new mother looks – soft focus, tender, loving, open. I think this photoshoot just might make many women rethink their (mis)perceptions of Angelina – not as a warrior-goddess forever superior to them, but just another mother, another human being, an ordinary mortal woman, not a threat. I hope so. Angelina has always said she’s interested in strong and vulnerable women. She said everyone thought of her for strong roles, but never saw her soft, vulnerable side. It’s possible to be both. Almost all of us have those seemingly contradictory qualities in us.
