W magazine has a little preview of what we can expect from the November issue where Brad Pitt took photos of Angelina Jolie and the kids. They’re all in black and white, and they’re just beautiful. I love seeing all kinds of photos of them, but the fact that they were taken at home by Brad himself makes them really special.
I love the photo of Angelina making a fish face, and I giggled at the slight annoyance when he caught a snapshot of her eating something, as though she was saying, “oh come ON, really?!”
My absolute favorite though is the photo of Angelina Jolie and Maddox laughing. Obviously Brad has done at least a little studying when it comes to photography because the lighting is just incredible in that shot.
I really can’t wait to get the whole magazine to see the rest of the photos!

“First Look” usually airs several times on HBO’s different channels. It’s a 15 minute behind the scenes look on set on the shoot, new & different mini-interviews with Clintalina.
I’m pleading with all Jolie-Pitt fans to attend the 1st weekend in your city, even if you usually don’t go to the theater at all. The industry and viewers in general gauge a movie’s (and by extension, its stars’) success by the 1st weekend grosses. Gone are the days when a movie could stay for months or even over a year in the theaters – now movies are gone in a week if they don’t perform up to expectations.
Success breeds success and good B.O. numbers & word-of-mouth make people more interested in going.
I think it was Cee who asked what we fans could do besides not buy the tabs. We can go to see Angie’s movies – one of the best ways to make the h8ters shut up temporarily is quote her per movie grosses and her lifetime gross. Those are numbers they can’t refute. They prove Angelina’s popularity and clout. Angelina’s lifetime grosses = (24 films) $1,191,365,852. That’s $1.2 BILLION. (All figures from boxofficemojo.)
Oscar analysts said a better AMH B.O. could have been the tipping point for Angie’s Oscar nomination. The Academy likes arty stuff – but with financial success.
Angelina looks more beautiful than I’ve ever seen her on the cover of W. She is so natural and lovely. This spread reminds me of an astonishing video on You Tube of Angie at a photo shoot at age 16. It puts to rest any question of plastic surgery. She’s completely gorgeous and natural. You have to see this.

I used to dislike Angelina, thinking she was evil for stealing Brad from Jen and odd for adopting so many children of other races. But after reading about her charity work (the article said she donates 1/3 of her income. Wow! Could that really be true??!!) and seeing her as a quirky teen in this video, I realize she’s just an extraordinary beauty with a unique personality. I’ve completely changed my mind about her. She rocks.
joliepittfanatic, you’re right. I forgot all about the twins’ photospread – how could I!?! It seemed so long ago, and I tend to compartmentalize the twins’ pregnancy & birth from photoshoots promoting movies. :-)

I think the photos and interview were a package deal. I think this and all the other interviews are part of Angelina’s contract obligations to promote Changeling. I kinda doubt she’d do this otherwise.
***The only*** photo-spread of the Jolie-Pitt family is the one in W, photographed by Brad. Were there other ones before W this year? I don’t think we’ll see any other photo-spread this year because W probably has exclusive rights – they wouldn’t be happy if the JPs did a photo-spread for any other publication in the world.
• Interviews given so far (with the same basic info and a few differences) – 3 in-depth out of 5: Parade, W, German Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan (UK), brief Elle (Japan).
• TV appearances: Today Show (maybe the other morning shows, day/afternoon shows like Regis & Kelly and Ellen), maybe Larry King/Charlie Rose, Daily Show, 1 or more of the late night shows).
• RC appearances: film festivals, premieres.
Brad and Angelina are doing the publicity and promotion for Changeling and Curious Case of Benjamin Button as part of their contractual obligations. Every actor has to do this.
• Just watch, it’s awards season – we’re going to see the stars of the following movies all hit the publicity circuit: W, What Just Happened, HSM3, Pride and Glory, I’ve Loved You So Long, Synedoche, New York, Madagscar 2, Soul Men, Boy in Striped Pajamas, Slumdog Millionaire, Quantum of Solace, The Road, The Soloist, Twilight, Australia, Four Christmases, Transporter 3, Milk, Punisher, Frost/Nixon, Day the Earth Stood Still, Defiance, Doubt, The Reader, Wendy & Lucy, Yes Man, Brothers Bloom, The Wrestler, Hurricane Season, Marley & Me, The Spirit, The Class, Valkyrie and Waltz With Bashir.
• Because every media outlet and blog in the world seem to repeat other media’s original coverage of Angelina and Brad, a lot of people think they’re publicity hounds or fame*hos.
Brad and Angelina’s problem is that the legitimate and tabloid media don’t care as much about other stars as they do the JPs. More media giving the same info over and over again. They cover Brad and Angelina because the JPs outsell other celebrities. They’re Hollywood’s “It Couple” right now, and they’re sizzling hot. The whole world’s gone crazy over them.
Plus the “bizarre” (according to Angelina) interest in her pregnancy, the twins’ birth and baby pics.
Plus stuff around the elections, including dear misguided Roseanne.
So it’s not just a function of Angelina and Brad promoting their movies, it’s the public and the media too.

Just like you all, I can’t wait for the W Magazines to come out. Some pictures we’ve seen are all beautiful,I’m sure there are more than we haven’t seen yet.
I will be leaving for Germany soon, I will check the site once in a while, I am still hoping to bump into the JP’s while I’m in Germany (what a dream).

you can’t help but love this family, even if you’d never met them – they so give out the happiness factor BIG-TIME, and make me smile so much.
I’m 58 for goodnesssakes – my first onscreen idol was Keith Richards (of Rolling Stones fame) way back in 1964, so I am not in my first bloom of youth (more’s the pity boohoohoo) . . . BUT, doncha just love the Jolie-Pitts.
I do feel so BAD to want to see new pics of them all the time, BUT at the same time I cant bear for any of them to feel pain at the incessant media coverage and ‘hunting-down’ of the paparazzi . . .
BUT if Brad can take the pics so that they can use the money for their humanitarian work, then that helps me to feel a little better re my insatiable appetite for news of them all.
My hubby took loadsa pics when my daughters were children, and I have some of them framed and hanging around my home – they give me such a warm glow. I do so hope the Jolie-Pitts get as much pleasure – in their senior years – from all their lovely photos as I do now.

Absolutely love this intimate family pictures! As to exposing the kids, unfortunately, the paps have absolutely done that and more! I actually think that this may slow down some of the paps. It’s almost like me showing you an album of my family but of course not just you but the whole world! I thank the AJ and BP for sharing such wonderful moments with us. Selfishly, it satisfies a lot of our curiosities. Those kids will always be plastered on the mags unfortunately. I’m sure they will teach them how to deal with that. It’s the ugly part of stardom. But the pics! So real, so open! It’s true what Angelina says that no matter what anybody says, as long as I think I’m ok by the end of the day that’s what counts. Live and let live. Who are we to judge everybody else? As long as its not hurting anyone, I mean aside from Jen Aniston, of course. Love em, love em, love em! God bless the Jolie Pitts!

UNDER MOD: On privacy and the JP kids, promotion as part of actors’ jobs . . .
Patricia, it’s very sweet that you are so protective of the Jolie Pitt kids – very commendable. Yes, I do think Brad and Angie think about what kind of lives their kids will want as adults. It seems to me they think very carefully about everything they do, including raising their kids. It would be a lot easier on the JP kids if their parents weren’t the Sexiest Man in the World and the World’s Most Beautiful and Sexiest Woman. If they weren’t, I don’t think people would bother.
We never saw or heard of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Peach Geldof, Kimberley Stewart, Amy Winehouse, the Hogans, etc. as they were growing up – yet they all managed to mess up their lives for a while.
If stars like Natalie Portman and Jodie Foster could go to college in peace, I think the Jolie-Pitt kids can have private lives, if they want.
IMO, Brad and Angelina are doing a great job of keeping their privacy – keeping in context that part of their job as actors are to promote their films by giving interviews, appearing in photospreads and on magazine covers, attending premieres, etc. If they’re not going to do that, they’ll have to quit their jobs as actors.
Also keeping in context the extraordinary, bizarre, crazy, mania and obsession the public has about them – and the attendant swarms of paps and tabloid media who follow, photograph and report their every move. PLUS making up all sorts of stories and lies about them. It’s not for nothing that Forbes named Angelina #1 as the face that sold the most magazines.
IMO, the paps and tabs have stepped way over the boundaries – more than could possibly be reasonable. Maybe someday there will be privacy laws here like the ones in France and England. Putting the onus on Brad and Angelina regarding the paps’ and tabs’ excesses is a little like telling someone to hole up in their house, or else it’ll be their fault if they get mugged outside.
Some people think Brad and Angelina are exploiting their kids. I don’t think so, not any more than Suri Cruise, Matilda Williams Ledger, Kingston, Nahla, Valentina Hayek, Britney’s kids, Denise Richards’ kids, etc. If not for who their parents are, we’d have no interest in the JP kids.
What about babies and children who appear in
print ads, commercials, and movies? Their parents should be culpable for exploiting their kids too, and we’re culpable for being consumers of the ads, tv shows (Olsen twins!), and movies.
I totally agree with you, Ligaya and Neer re the knife issue. I don’t think Angie and Brad will buy their child anything that will be dangerous for him or the other children. And, usual it is Angie’s fault again. I’m sure the rags will have a feast for the next week or two.
Did you notice how the whole knife thing was laid at Angelina’s doorstep? Again, where’s Brad? Angelina said “WE” take him to a special shop – I took that to be ‘BRAD AND I.’ But I guess it’s easier and sells more rags to make Angelina the bad guy, the crazy unfit mother.
