He was projecting his own family issues on Denise Richards. What a shame, she mentioned her mother was on her death bed and he simply dismissed it and continued to attack her. Matt Lauer was on the verge of divorce recently, but he convinced his wife to stay so he could keep his career going. He knew that the idea of an ugly divorce would be the end of his career. He too was accused of being abusive towards his wife. It seems to me, he was attacking Denise as if she were his wife. From what I understand he is now trying to be on his best behavior until his contract is renewed. Matt is a bad boy. Moreover, he lacks true professionalism for projecting in that inteview.
