Tonight’s guest judge is Adam Shankman, the director & choreographer for the movie Hairspray. He was a lot of fun the last time he was on, so this should be good. Nigel told us that Hairspray is the highest grossing musical ever!
Tonight, each duo will be performing two new dance routines. So that means that they had to learn twice as much in the same amount of time.
Sara & Danny
1st dance: Argentine Tango – choreographer Alex DiSilva
This dance was hot, hot, HOT! Danny’s dancing and flip were off the hook. There’s a move in it they’re calling the “unwinding pretzel” that you just have to see. (Don’t worry, if you missed it, I’ll have the video posted here tomorrow.)
2nd dance: Hip-Hop – choreographer Shane Sparks
I am so pleasantly surprised by Danny doing hip-hop!! He turnedout to be really good! ara, of course was wonderful because she’snormally a B-girl. And when has Shane Sparks not given us one of the best dances on the show? Good stuff!
Lauren & Dominic
1st dance: Krump – choreographer Lil C
I am in now way an expert at Krumping. But the judges liked their dance and I thought it looked really well done. And Lauren did one move where she ran over Dominic’s back and she actually fell, but did a great job of covering it so only Nigel noticed.
2nd dance: Rumba – choreographer Tony Meredith
I really liked it. Dominic seemed a little out of his element in the intro, bt he really brought it to the dance. They were great. I was enjoying the dance so much that I was disappointed that it ended.
Lacey & Neil
1st dance: Latin Jazz – choreographer Maria Torres
It was another flawless performance, as far as I could tell. Lacey was fabulous and Neil had his shirt off, so it was a hot dance. They did a really tough lift that was well executed.
2nd dance: Contemporary – choreographer Mia Michaels
This was a touching and beautiful dance. They really did it perfectly. I was very moved by it. Bravo!
Sabra & Pasha
1st dance: Broadway – choreographer Tyce Diorio
What a fun, fast-paced and fabulous dance! They were great! I loved it!
2nd dance: Quickstep – choreographer Tony Meredith
That was fast, fun, and they were wonderful! They tore up the stage.
I think trying to figure out who should leave this week is about like flipping a coin. They are the top 8 dancers and I think at this point, it’s hard to say who isn’t as good as the others. They’re all phenomenal. But you should go vote for your favorite to keep them in the competition!
Be sure to watch tomorrow night, then check back here for the recap and the dance performance videos!
Reality TV, TV, Television, so you think you can dance, SYTYCD, Lauren Gottlieb, Neil Haskell, Pasha Kovalev, Dominic Sandoval, D-Trix, Sabra Johnson, Lacey Schwimmer, Danny Tidwell, Sara Von Gillern, Hip-Hop, Krump, Rumba, Tango, Jazz, Contemporary, Quickstep, Broadway, dance, dancing, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Mary Murphy, Nigel Lithgoe, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio

I really was not all that moved by the contemporary piece that the judges were all fawning over. Not sure why. Last night was the first time I actually voted (for Sara and Sabra).
i gotta agree. wazzup w that contempt piece? Mia’s story touched me and tt’s that. end of the day the dance was still mehh.. I dun understand how can nigel compare it with Travis and Heidi’s contempt last yr.
I totally respect that different people had to have seen it differently. I was very moved, but mostly because it brought out my own feelings about having lost both of my own parents in the last several years. I think that’s why it touched me. But I agree that the park bench was a lot better overall! ~~ Lynn
