Solange Knowles Gets Mad at News Anchor

Yikes. Solange Knowles stirred up buzz today and had a celebrity "oops" moment when she appeared on KVVU. She kinda lost it on one of the anchors. Apparently, during an unaired part of her interview, the anchors mentioned how she was connected to Jay-Z. They asked Solange if it would be okay to talk about him, but her rep refused. The news station agreed and decided not to air anything about her brother in-law. I guess no one told Solange that because the girl blew her lid on live television. Here’s the video.

Well, I mean, I wouldn’t want to be constantly connected to family like that either, but geez….

Cancer people stay on my “leave them alone” list.

The attitude wasn’t about being asked about Beyonce because she knows people will ask. It was about being asked about Jay. What people don’t know is that the woman asked her about Jay and him selling the 40/40 club and if she could give her any info about it. When Solange said no, they scrapped it, but she didn’t know they didn’t broadcast it. I’m with her (although she could’ve been a little more nice about it since image is everything in the business she’s in). She doesn’t own, operate, or have any other affiliation to Jay’s club, so why ask her just because he’s married to her sister? That isn’t for her to tell and you didn’t ask her there for that so it WAS unprofessional on the reporter’s part. First rule of journalism: stick to the topic and she didn’t do that so she got what she deserved (to be put on blast).

Queen dee – Yeah, it wasn’t cool, that’s for sure. It sucks for Solange. Not only is she trying to distant herself in peoples minds from her sister and brother-in-law, but making a mistake like that on live TV must have been humiliating. Really, no one should be asking about her family’s accomplishments if the topic is supposed to be about *her*.

  4. Solange Talks About Mishap with News Anchor

[...] I’m really glad she’s talking about this. Solange Knowles made a video today explaining what happened yesterday when she got angry with the news crew at KVVU.  She also spoke about her new album and of the [...]

Solange makes a fool of herself once again. We all know that when people are celebrities, they get questioned about everything. It comes with the territory. Do you know who Jay-Z is? If anything, she should want her name to be tied to his. She obviously thinks she’s bigger than what she really is. In case you don’t know let me fill you in. She is a twenty-two year old, divorced, uneducated, single parent who lucked up with Beyonce as a sister. Being questioned, photographed, and talked about is all apart of their business. She knew what she was getting into when she chose to become a singer/artist, or whatever she calls herself. This is merely what happens when you hold celebrity status. As regular civilians, we pay money to hear juicy gossip and lies about every star in Hollywood. This is how they make their money. I must admit, she did look like a quivering sissy as she tried to nonchalantly justify her absurd rant and temper tantrum. Regardless if she felt it was “unprofessional”, there was a time and place to handle the situation appropriately, and unfortunately, that wasn’t the time. She should have waited patiently after her interview to address the problem/concern instead of knowingly trying to confront someone live on national television. To me, Solange is definitely a disappointment across the board. Everyone makes silly mistakes, but this is the type of mistake that shows your true color. No matter how Solange felt, she never should have said and acted as she did. It was uncouth. So what happens now? She walks away wounded and embarrassed. Again, this is what happens when you intentionally try to insult and confront people at inappropriate times.

By the way Queen Dee, the anchor lady had no idea what had gone on prior to the start of the interview. That’s why she sounded confused and caught off guard.

Actually, Thomas, the anchor DID know. They were telling her to ask about Jay’s club EVEN AFTER Solo said she wouldn’t talk about it! The anchor had to have said something about it, because Solo had an ear piece in and heard her. Before anything was said about Jay, THEY told her they were live, so she thought it was on air. That’s why the producer stated “We weren’t on air” to her. They knew they did something wrong and she had a right to be mad, so they were trying to clear it up with her. If you look at her video explaining it, you’d know that.

    Queen Dee,
I didn’t come on here to argue about this silly nonsense. I am merely stating my opinion. I did watch both videos and also heard the whole conversation on the radio earlier that morning. The anchor lady did not know that the producers asked Solange about Jay-Z and his club. Can’t you understand? That is why the producer came on and told Solange that they weren’t on air, because the anchor lady could not appropriately address the issue because she had no idea what had taken place. This is why she continually apologized to her. Even after the producer came on and said we weren’t on air the anchor lady specifically said, “Whatever the case, we do apologize.” The producers had asked prior to the interview could they mention Jay-Z. Her manager said no and to my knowledge that was the end of it. You can take it whatever way you’d like, but know this, what really happened, you and I will never know, because we were not there. But I am well aware and I hope you are too that what Solange did was wrong. That is why she immediately tried to address what happen. Do you not know the look of embarrassment? It was all over her face. Regardless, there are some young children and teenagers who probably look up to her. She is a celebrity. She should know how to handle herself accordingly. The whole world doesn’t have to know you are angry. Again, I feel she should have addressed her concern privately instead of intentionally trying to reprimand people for doing their job. She acted like a selfish brat. You know this. So my question to you is why are you trying to condone what she did? Solange and I are the same age, and I would never speak to an adult in the manner that she did. That was totally inappropriate and a turn off to me, BUT THAT IS JUST MY OPINION! Don’t get angry, let’s just agree to disagree. Oh yeah, Queen Dee, here are a few clips I retrieved from YouTube for you to watch. One is called Stupid Rapper Solange Knowles (I didn’t know she rapped) and the other one is Solange Knowles Mistakenly Accuses News Anchor.

We’re both adults. I’ll never get mad at someone for having an opinion–children do that. However, I don’t feel she was wrong with WHAT she did, but HOW she did it. She thought the disrespect was done on-air, so she addressed it on-air (even though she was mighty stank about it). We don’t have to disagree, because I think she was wrong, too. I’m just saying I don’t think it was for no reason.

You guys are stupid!!! She’s a biotch too….(Solo) I mean…I have never been a fan of hers because she’s a nobody hanging on the coat tail of her sister…
