Soulja Boy Sad that Rihanna and Brown Missed Kids Choice Awards

The 2009 Kids Choice Awards were last night, but of course, neither Rihanna nor Chris Brown attended the events due to the assault incident that happened last month.

Rapper Soulja Boy expressed his disappointment on the orange carpet last night, saying that he’d wished they had attended.  "For them not to be here is very sad. I was looking forward to seeing them here.

He continues, "Right now, it’s a sad situation. And it’s very touchy. I’m just …. it just shocked me when it happened.” Soulja said he spoke to Chris Brown on the phone and said that Chris is "doing OK."

He then says that he wishes them both well. "Yeah, right now, it’s a delicate time. You know, the court date is coming up. I hope that they both get through it in a positive way."

Rihanna was nominated for Favorite Female Singer against Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus, who won. She was also up for Favorite Song for her hit “Don’t Stop the Music” and was against Katy Perry for “I Kissed a Girl” and Beyoncé for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”, which ended up winning.  Chris Brown had been nominated for Favorite Male Singer and for Favorite Song with his single “Kiss, Kiss” but he withdrew after protesters created a petition against him being nominated.
