"Stay Cool" Production Stills

As you know from previous posts here on HilaryNews, Hilary Duff spent part of her summer filming Stay Cool, a comedy flick co-starring Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Mark Polish, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer. The movie was put together by indie filmmakers Mark & Michael Polish under their own production company, Prohibition Pictures.

In Stay Cool, Hilary Duff plays Shasta O’Neil, a sexy high school senior who flirts with a successful visiting author (Mark Polish as Henry McCarthy) and invites him to prom. The same author must deal with another unrequired high school crush (Winona Ryder as Scarlet Smith).

The film has a release date of 2009 attached to it, but no further details. The producer, Jonathan Sheldon, tells crushable.com that Stay Cool will be releasing more details after the Sundance Film Festival where the other Prohibition Picture movie filmed last summer, Manure, will be showing (sadly Stay Cool will not show at Sundance).

If you recall from Hilary’s blog post back in August, she shared that the film includes a graduation and prom scene. These were special to Hilary because she never had the opportunity to do either while in high school.
