This news is a few days old, but Lindsay’s had a lot going on in her life and I didn’t feel like reporting all the negative stuff at once!
Back in 2006, Lindsay Lohan shared an aspiration to play Stevie Nicks in a movie. Stevie Nicks is a singer-songwriter, best known as being a part of Fleetwood Mac as well as a solo career. She’s known as the “Queen of Rock and Roll,” and, like Lindsay, she battled substance abuse problems.
Stevie Nicks recently released a new CD and has been making the interview circuits. In an interview with the New York Times, they talked about Lindsay wanting to buy the rights to her life story in order to play her on film. However, Stevie Nicks was “unmoved” by hearing this. She said:
“Over my dead body. She needs to stop doing drugs and get a grip. Then maybe we’ll talk.”
So sad. You’d think, as someone who herself struggled with the pressures of Hollywood and with drugs, that she’d be a nicer person. That she perhaps would not believe the gossip about Lindsay. A true lack of respect. Sad.

I am a fan. I think Lindsay is fantastic, I just don’t think she is the most talented actress of our time. I am not a hardcore Lohan-ite, but I really like her. The reality is that she cannot play Stevie Nicks. There has to be something more to you to portray this woman- something you can’t learn in acting school. Stevie’s fanbase have her down to a science. Since the film would probably be geared toward them they would like someone who can really pull the role off, and Lindsay just can’t. I would rather she be told, “No,” than do the part and tank.

Madeleine, I am sorry, but you are surely mistaken. You cannot be serious when you say that she is the most talented person out there today… Cate Blanchet, Jennifer Connely, Helen Mirren- these are talented actresses. These are actresses who know what is up. Albeit, none of them could play stevie, without intense make-up, but these are our true women of Hollywood… At this point. Sorry, but I strongly disagree with you, unless you were joking then- great joke.

Since when is Lindsay Lohan of the acting calibre to pull off playing someone as dynamic, sexy and successful as Stevie? You don’t just look in the mirror and say “I will play Stevie Nicks!”
You have to earn it.
Lindsay will never, EVER, be respected in hollywood. She is talentless, unattractive, spoiled and an embarrassment to girls (She is not a woman, not by a long shot)

AS someone who has met Stevie Nicks and followed her career for years I can say that it’s a shame she took THAT attitude about it. There are other ways she could have declined an interest in Lindsey. It’s like someone else said, “Stevie deserves a respectful, talented, and established actress to portay her in her life story.” Maybe she is waiting for Dakota Fanning to grow up and do it, lol… I can say that Stevie should really consider doing a movie- I think her career needs a little something more than a repackaged greatest hits cd… Only my opinion- there ya go.
Ms. Nicks puts herself in a bad light by lashing out to someone who is vulnerable.
Oh get a grip!! Of course Stevie doesn’t want LL portraying her, and it is her right to say NO. Right now LL is a mess and since Stevie has paid her dues, she deserves an actress who’s highly respected/seasoned to recreate her life (not a self-destructive girl who is out of control). I’m sure Stevie is more focused on other things now, besides the rock n’ roll lifestyle she knew only too well. That said, I think having someone like LL portray her would put Ms. Nicks in a bad light. Anyways, this is HER LIFE STORY, not anyone else’s, so she has every right to voice her opinion!

Stevie Nicks lived the “Rock&Roll livestile” in the seventies. It came with the job. And we all know what that means.

alot closer to the action then iam,i have alot of
respect for her work and what she has to say
beyond that when she says Lindsay needs to
quit doing drugs,i just hope it’s not code for
doing drugs in the spirit of Motley Crue,
because that really is bad news
Stevie should be thrilled that someone like Lindsay would express interest in playing her in a movie. It’s sad that she is so quick to judge Lindsay when all she knows about our Lindsay is what the media has said about her. Why not meet with Lindsay and get to know her first? Lindsay has made some great films and I hope Stevie takes the time to watch them and realize that Lindsay is a wonderful actress and singer!
she seems like a pretty cold person, for someone who’s been through the business and back again you’d hope she would be more forgiving and maybe even have some insight for this generation, but I guess maybe its just made her bitter instead. She is a great musician and artist but personally, she seems like an ugly person… although if I met her I’m sure I’d still have a hard time catching my breath :P
Nobody has a legal right to stop another person
or business/corporation from writing a book,
making a movie/television show,staging
a play,etc. about them. It’s done all the time.
