Gilmore Girls Recap: Super Cool Party People

Hey Guys, I’m Leora, Arieanna’s pal and a fellow B5 Blogger and I’ll be trying my best to live blog this fantastic episode. Here it goes!

Lorelai and Suki are hanging out in the kitchen of the DragonFly. Lorelai has a hangover from being extremely drunk at Lane’s wedding. She is REALLY embarrassed by her behavior.

Suki mentions that in her drunken state Lorelai "auditioned" for America’s Next Top Model on their wedding video.

Sounds like Lorelai doesn’t remember much of the wedding.

Suki calls Christopher her knight in shining armor…hmm…Are they going to get together again and screw things up between her and Luke? grr!

Rory is at the hospital. She’s worried about Logan. The nurse won’t let her see him because she isn’t family. She starts to freak out when his friends show up. They decide they’re going adopt Logan in order to find out info about him. Rory starts to yell at them for joking.

Rory find Logan and Dr Shultz won’t give her answers about his conditions. She offers to donate blood. Damn she’s in LOVE!

Back in Star’s Hollow, Guitar guy is back…he’s singing about having 40 years.

Luke is yelling at Caesar for not moving the bananas out of the fridge. He tells Luke that people find him cold and distant. Why is Luke in such a crummy mood?

Lorelai comes in and Luke says "Thank God someone sane". Luke brought her a present…a little Amish Voodoo Doll. hehe

Lorelai says in response to Luke claiming it’s not a voodoo doll: "What the Amish don’t know won’t hurt them, unless I want it to hurt them" hehe

Luke tells Lorelai that he’s going to throw a party for April at Luke’s diner and doesn’t want Lorelai’s help. Lorelai mentions a party of Rory’s…

Kirk asks for specialized coffee advertised on a sign that Caesar put up in Luke’s absence, he is susceptible to signage. :-) Caesar has made a bunch for non menu food item signs!

Luke mentions knowing about Lorelai’s stupor at the wedding. I guess he’s heard what happened. She’s really embarrassed.

Patty says that she went throughout the town to get them to talk about her singing "Endless Love" instead of the stuff about them not getting married.

Rory’s on the phone with Paris. Paris was complaining about the ease of her biology exam. She tells her about Logan. She copied things off the chart and wants Paris to help her. She doesn’t know how to read charts though. Paris wants to know the doctor’s name and says she’ll call right back.

Rory watches as Dr. Schultz gets a call from Paris…he was bleeding internally before but it’s better…he has a partially collapsed lung…and lots of other problems. Paris explains the operation in gruesome terms. Rory asks what it means and Paris says he’ll be fine. Aww Paris is being such a good friend!

Skip to Lorelai shopping with Luke. They’re joking about a shurpa…she’s overanalyzing their relationship and Luke doesn’t notice. He sees a toiletry set with cats on it that he wants to get April for her birthday. He thinks she’ll like it and they argue. Lorelai wants to be part of it and he says no…the reason he doesn’t want her to be involved is because he’s worried she’ll like Lorelai better than him.

April’s mom is talking to Luke. They’re too friendly for my taste, but I’m a jealous gal. Anyway…April’s having a great time at the party and doesn’t care when her mom says goodbye. Luke wants everyone’s attention. "I’m Luke, April’s Dad," he says and gets applause. Then he says that he wants to lay down some ground rules Which are all about the off limits areas of the restaurant

1. The kitchen is strictly off limits
2. So is upstairs
3. And don’t go outside

He’s being really mean and crazy.

Lorelai is talking to Michel about the website of the Inn that Michel changed to a big picture of himself. It’s stupidly funny. Sounds like a lot of Java script.

Rory calls to tell her mom about Logan. She tells her about what’s going on with him and Lorelai wants to know how she’s know so much. Rory says Paris, enough said!

Logan’s awake and Rory walks in. Logan says he must look awful and Rory responds, "Now I know why you never let me see you without your makeup on".

Logan tries to get up and Rory tells him to lie down. Rory says she’ll be there as long as he wants her to be. Logan doesn’t want her to fall behind in school.

Everyone is really bored at the party. April’s playing go fish with another girl and they start fighting. A girl asks if she can go to the bathroom. Why didn’t she go on her own? It’s part of the restricted area! Luke asks if anyone else has to go to the bathroom and they all raise their hands. He tells them to line up and says he’s going to check on something in the back. Then he calls Lorelai. She scolds him for leaving them alone. He’s in the storage room and he’s peeping at them. hehe..He didn’t plan any activities. She tells him to get his clock radio to put on some music. She’s going to come over to help. She asks if it’s ok, and he practically begs her to come quick.

Lorelai shows up in a really cute vest and Luke is really worried. She introduces herself and thanks them for not partying before she got there. She puts a crown on April and tells them to line up and hold hands. The girls says they’re not allowed to go outside and Luke says that there are new rules. But Luke keeps mentioning hazards as the girls are running through the streets and get to a salon. They’re going to get makeovers. the girl squeal. AWESOME!

Rory’s talking to Logan’s sister on the phone. They’re cutting their honeymoon short to come see Logan. Rory asks about the evil dad. He isn’t planning on coming. He’s boycotting his almost dead son. What an arse!

Rory seems pissed and calls Mitchem Huntsburger and calls him a narcissistic ass and demands that he come to see his son NOW (using Logan’s cell phone). Go Rory! Way to make the future in-laws love ya. hehe. If I talked to my In-laws like that my head would be rolling on the floor! hehe

The girls are having a great time with makeup. April says someone complemented her bone structure and asks if it’s ok to be complimented for her skull. Lorelai says girls take any complement they get. April says Lorelai would have been wasted on a Son and says she’s like her mother.

She’s opening her presents and comes to Luke’s. He doesn’t want her to open it, but she does anyway. Lorelai switched them to a great present. Go Lor! She loves it and Luke thanks her.

They’re going to turn it into a slumber party and Luke says they call their parents. He says to line up to use the phone but Creepy they all have cells!

Lorelai says she’s going to go, but Luke tells her stay. Aww…

They’re gonna watch Molly Ringwald’s "Pretty In Pink "! Love that Movie!

Lorelai is back at the inn talking to Suki reminiscing about their childhood makeup and how things have changed. She’s bragging about the party, saying that things have changed and that they bonded. She’s excited about now being able to be involved. I’m worried…I feel something coming on. Luke’s probably jealous…crap.

Suki says she wishes she had been there and Lorelai brought her a loot bag.

Back at the restaurant there’s glitter in the pancakes. Anna comes over yelling at Luke. She’s pissed that Lorelai was helping. She keeps calling Lorelai his girlfriend. EEK! She’s mad because she’s jealous I think. She’s threatening him to not let him hang with April. She wouldn’t be this mad if she didn’t have feelings for him.

Mitchem Huntsberger shows up at the hospital and exchanges an awkward glance with Rory before going in to see his son, Logan.

Lorelai is home and Luke shows up. She’s in a great mood…and talking really fast like she does when she’s happy. Luke tells her about what Anna said about the party. She feels betrayed…Lorelai says she’s sorry…and he says yeah me too. What an ass…He should have said, "it’s totally not your fault, Anna’s a crazy bitch and I love YOU Lorelai!"

Luke and Rory are talking in the hospital room. She says she’s sorry about letting him go on the trip. She says she should have stopped him. See, he’s arguing with her guilt like Luke should have. He’s actually a good boyfriend. Maybe I like him again…we’ll see.

Lorelai goes to Anna’s store. Anna’s looking at spread sheets and growling. She doesn’t know who she is. Anna’s being nice and friendly. Then Lorelai says who she is and Anna gets cold. Lorelai apologizes for being involved in the party. She says she threw herself into it. She says she wanted to meet Anna so she would know that she has nothing to worry about. Anna doesn’t care and continues to berate Lorelai

Anna tells Lorelai that she doesn’t show April any of the men she dates until they’re really serious. She’s being very condescending to Lorelai who, of course, is also a single mom and has gone through all this before. Anna doesn’t think their relationship is serious enough for Lorelai to be involved in April’s life. She doesn’t want April to know her until after they’re married. Grrr…I hate her! I don’t believe her for a second. She’s trying to screw up their relationship. The show ends without Lalas. :(
