Suri Cruise Picks Out All of Her Own Clothes

Suri Cruise is known as one of the most stylish toddlers in Hollywood. Since her mom, Katie Holmes, is a fashion designer, you would think she picks out Suri’s clothes and styles her from head to toe. Not so says Tom Cruise.

E! Online chatted about Suri with Tom and Katie at the T: The New York Times Style Magazine.

“Just so you know, she dresses herself,” Tom said. “She really does. She picks out everything on her own.”

Katie added, “She really does. She has such cute style.”

Suri is definitely one popular little kid and possibly even more popular with E! than her parents. LOL. But don’t think that bothers Tom!

He said, “I love it. I think that’s great. How can you not love her? She’s wonderful. I really appreciate that. She’s a joy.”

At the end of the conversation, they asked Tom about Suri being in the business. “We want her to do whatever makes her happy. She can decide on her own.”

It is disappointing to see that the shoe stores even Sears in Canada are selling silly heels for small children. You would think they would have noticed that in Australia most of the children particularly the well to do where sensible children’s shoes, Clarks, Startrite. It is too bad that Suri has inadvertently started a really ridiculous trend.

Jane,…I think it’s creepy that the buyers for Sears and their adult consumers would follow the fashion sense of a 4 year old.

Parents don’t parent anymore. They’re afraid their kids won’t like them.

Kit….I totally agree with you! ” Let kids be what they are….for ’self confidence’… bla bla bla
Im so sick of it….kids need structure, guidance, discipline to learn right from wrong, and LOVE….
Im a family therapist, and I see parents “scared” of their kids all the time…
Scared of being rejected by their KIDS…I hate to be so “psychological” but you can always trace it back to something in the parents childhood/past….
It is doing such an injustice to their own children…
so sorry, Im getting on my soapbox!:)
But in regards to Suri…i dont mind her picking out her own clothes when it is appropriate, if it is a certain dress code, or party, or COLD outside…her options should be presented and boundaries made. You can wear the pink coat or the purple one, but it is very cold you are wearing a coat! Pick your battles, yes, but YOU are the parent, please Parent!
    Its exhausting to watch too!

….and it is a proven fact, that if you give kids too much freedom, and control they become insecure…
    they dont feel safe!
Look at Lindsay Lohan, what a train wreck.

Kelly,..I agree with you 110% on giving kids boundaries. What I can’t stand is when I read about how Suri, and kids in general, have to be micro-managed about their choice of attire. As long as they’re safe, dressed appropriately and for the season, who cares?

I think children should be encouraged to make choices within the boundaries set for them. Otherwise, by the time these kids enter middle school, they can’t make decision or fend for themselves without help from “mommy”. I see it in some of my kid’s friends. Poor grades, no confidence, lazy, always expecting someone to pick up their slack. And I haven’t even mentioned the lack of tact or attitude!! LOL..I have to laugh, otherwise I’d cry.

I think that Katie needs some help with her wardrobe!! She looks like a bag lady half of the time!! If she wasn’t married to such a wealthy man, she would not have her own fashion line! She certainly doesn’t advertise her fashion line!! I read somewhere, her girls dresses cost hundreds of dollars each!

Also, I agree with Jane!! I think that the way Suri dresses is certainly inappropriate!! It sends a bad message to young girls!! Suri is only 3 going on 4, I am sure there will be girls 6 or 7 bugging their Mothers to dress like Suri!!

I’ve seen pics of some of her dresses, Ithought a few of them were quite nice paticularly the cream 1 shoulder one, the cream and black one, and black strapless rucshed one, some others , paticularly the red shapeless one, and the blouses didn’t do anything for me, also liked the leather jacket.
Wish she would wear the cream ones or the black one somewhere. Now that her hair is longer, I think she would look fab!

suri is very poorly dressed she picks out her own clothes and most of the time thats what she looks like a young child who don’t know how to match clothes together she dont know that its not good to pair a dress with rain boots and its not even raining out i think she has mostly good peice of clothes but they dont match

  12. annie

Suri isn’t even 4 yet, I don’t think it matters if her clothes match or not does it. Rain boots seem to be the in thing with little girls, so cute.
