Here are the pictures everyone has been talking about! Yesterday, while out and about with her mom Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise was seen sporting a pair of heels. So cute!
Look at that face! She looks like one very happy little girl. Katie and Suri arrived back in the states a few days ago, after Katie finished filming her new movie “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” in Melbourne, Australia.
The girls joined their main man Tom Cruise in Boston where he is filming his new movie “Wichita”. What a busy movie making couple!
Tom’s movie is set for release on July 2, 2010 and Katie’s for sometime in 2011. I can’t wait to see both of these films!

I am sort of in the middle on this one.
I get Charlotte’s point of view, but I also get where Katie is coming from…
Allowing the strong willed child to do that…you do have to pick your battles.
…My 3 year old daughter kept getting those shoes as gifts and I allowed her to play with them very begrudingly so, but not out of my house,and not up and down the stairs!… but for different reasons did they not leave my house, then the health of her feet… they are cheesy!
I like Katie’s outfit here!!! So glad they are reunited with TC

. I remember an interview with KH’s mother, and she said that when Katie was younger, Katie insisted on picking her own clothes, and well, let’s say kids have interesting taste. Anyhow, Suri looks pretty happy with her choice of clothing/footwear.
Her whole ensemble is so so cute. I love the skirt too. Suri did change the shoes to pink canvas shoes, you can see the pics on other sites. So I guess Katie just indulged her for a while. Funny thing about kids, you can refuse her something and she throws a major tantrum, and you can let her have her way and get bored in a minute and ask for her pink canvas shoes after a couple of minutes. No need to be so strict with a wilful child. It never works

Frankly, your comments are the least of what’s going on around here. Someone just brought my family into it which is the height of inappropriateness. That upset me to no end. They’re trying to force me off the site which is not going to happen. I have a right to my opinion. I’m hoping Julie and the owner of the site don’t tolerate that kind of behavior.
Not only did she change shoes Katie also carried her.
Lauren ITA with what you said[several times;)] plus add do it that she learned that the shoes are uncormtible and more than likly not throw a tantrum next time. These tatics work with all children because I have used them for abour 14 years in my classroom.

Whether it is cute or not that Suri is wearing heels is not the issue. The girl is 3 years old. Come on! She has a lifetime be wear heels. She can wear them at home for dress-up but isn’t the job of a mom to have some say in the matter. Will Suri be running around in a string bikini next summer and tons of make-up and then we will all say it’s cute because it’s Suri.
When will people stop writing the most outrageous/ludicrous things when it comes to Suri?
She is wearing her dance/Cinderella shoes and her mother had the good sense to know what was coming and had a pair of more comfortable shoes on hand.
I agree Mary, there seems to be a different set of standards for Suri and a different set for other celeb kids. I saw a pic of Katie, carrying her bag stuffed to the top with Suris things, anther brown bag with things they bought,she’s holding onto Suris hand who is trying to juggle her 2 ponies. It brought back a few memories of how things are when your kids are little.
I think Katie is a great mum, and Tom is a great dad,and even though we are not privvy to their private life I think Suris life is full of creativity, wonderful, magical and different experiences, and when
people complain that she’s carried too much, or carried like a baby, its just that she’s loved to death by her parents.
When you come from a huge family like I do , not only do you have a huge network of rellos and friends but your cousins , sisters in law, brothers in law friends and family become your friends as well, so I see a lot, she is a blessed little girl.
My sister waited 5yrs to have another child , and waited so long because she loved her daughter to such an extreme that she didn’t want to share the love with another child . She had another little girl and she is loved to extreme too, thats the way some people are.
PS . The only thing , I wish they could try a bit harder to put a little jacket on her .
The temps in Boston are in the mid to low seventies.
Although the calendar says Autumn, it’s been very warm here in NYC as well…………We’ll supposedly have cooler temps starting tomorrow.

Katie was quoted in a magazine interview as saying that her bag is full of color wonder for Suri.
Those don’t look like dress up shoes. They look like real high heels made for toddlers, (they do actually make these, I was shocked to find out). High heels on children are a bad idea for more than one reason. Not only is it bad for developing feet and backs, but it sexualizes little girls way too soon. I have three little girls, and not one of them wears high heels of any sort. Even their princess dress up shoes aren’t high heels. (And a few minutes playing dress up around the house in high heeled princess shoes or dressing up in Mommy’s high heels are not going to harm their feet. But walking all around shopping in “real” high heeled shoes is a bad idea.) I know you have to pick your battles, but walking through the city with high heels on a three year old is a battle that SHOULD be picked and won by mother.
cute? I think Suri definately is a cutie pie but to be wearing high heels (and it’s not just in these pics so it’s not just for ‘play’) is inapropriate and simply very bad for her feet.
This goes for not famous kids too.
