As the Survivor: Tocantins season began, we saw a truck with Jeff Probst and two already-divided teams in the back going through the Brazilian wilderness. When the truck stopped, Jeff told the teams to hurry and grab as much supplies as they could carry in one minute. The Timbira tribe got all the bags of food, like beans and all the water. The Jalapao tribe wasn’t as strategic about their food choices. This could be an early indication of which tribe may dominate.
Then Jeff told them their camps were a 4-hour trek away and they would have to carry all the stuff they had grabbed to the new camp site. He gave each team a map and a compass. Then he sprang the first twist on them. He told them that one person on each team wouldn’t make the journey with the rest. They thought he meant that a person would be eliminated from the game. After they both voted for someone, they found out that those two people were going to get a helicopter ride to the camp instead of the 4-hour hike, everyone was a bit shaken up.
During the trip when the Timbira tribe stopped for a break, Coach approached Brendan about allying and taking out the weakest people first. Brendan acted like he was with him on it, but seemed cautious.
Sandy got to the Jalapao camp first and found the first clue to find the immunity idol in her camp. That’s how she spent her time waiting for the others.
Sierra, who had strep throat, was the first one to get to Timbira camp. She spent the time building a shelter and setting up the camp. Her strategy was to try to win over the rest of the tribe.
The next day, Sandy kept sneaking away from the tribe to hunt for the idol. Her strategy wasn’t to try to fit in, but to try to protect herself.
At the Immunity Challenge, the Timbira tribe, who had clean water to drink, won the challenge and got Immunity & fire. That left the Jalapao tribe to go to the Tribal Counsel that night.

When the tribes got back to camp, they started to get really annoyed with Carolina and instead of voting out Sandy, which would have been expected, they voted out Carolina.
It’s pretty early to pick favorites, but I think JT looks like he’s a potentially good player on the Jalapao tribe and on the Timbira tribe, Coach looks like a Jonathan Penner wannabee which could work for him or against him and if he can keep himself from giving orders, Jerry may be a real contender too.
