We first reported that MTV would be filming a new series in the same vein as My Super Sweet 16 but for those reaching legal drinking age. Basically a rich kid drunk-fest with lots of barfing and screaming. Kind of like one of the latest episodes of The Real World, but with birthdays. Well, now the show is a reality and (of course!) an MTV “personality” is one of the early stars.

Svetlana Shusterman from the Real World Key West turned 21 on December 1st, 2006 and it was filmed for a new MTV show, My 21st Birthday.
The event was held at Club Mansion in Miami, Florida on Saturday December 2nd, 2006.
The format of the show will be similar to that of MTVs My Sweet Sixteen series.
Svetlana’s My 21st Birthday show should be aired on MTV in early 2007.
Um, should I be excited about this? Maybe it’s just bringing back too many memories of my 21st birthday and the subsequent morning spent hugging the toilet.
