Today on The Tyra Banks Show, there was an America’s Next Top Model reunion. One contestant in particular had a pretty big secret to spill – she’s pregnant! The happy mom-to-be was none other than 18-year-old Tahlia Brookins.
“I was told multiple times over and over that I couldn’t get pregnant just from my scars holding me back, other physical things going on with my body,” Tahlia said. “I was always told I was never going to be able to conceive children.”
Tahlia is no longer with the father of her child, 18-year-old David Michaels Jr., but the twosome are determined to make their family work. They have support from both their families and feel that they are ready and excited to be parents.

I’m really torn about this. It’s wonderful Tahlia has learned she is able to have children despite all odds, but she’s so young! Why is she ready to take on such a responsibility? What do you think of Tahlia’s announcement?
She is too young to have kids, although she doesn’t look 18 to me. She kinda looks older than Celia. Sorry Tahlia fans!
i was shocked. but the good thing is, she looks prettier now. i think she lost a little bit of weight and her hair was tamed down. i don’t get the lioness hairdo that tyra gave tahlia and natasha.
I’m happy for Tahlia, especially since she was previously told she couldn’t have children. She’s a beautiful girl with a story, and hopefully she’ll continue modeling. Besides, it’s not like anyone should be appalled; dozens of girls on Top Model have had kids, mostly before the show. Renee, Natasha and Dionne come to mind off the bat, I could probably think of more.

why clap for her, but then ridicule every other 18-year-old mother on every other tyra show? quite the double-standard. there goes any chance she had at a career!
Ross, you’re stupid on so mny levels. Her “chance at a career” doesn’t change now. There are many high fashion models that have children, a lot of them you’d know just by hearing their name – you just don’t know their life story, & their children.
Anyway, I don’t think eighteen is that young to have a baby in this day & age. If you’re ready for one, then you’re ready. Obviously she’s willing to give motherhood a shot, and I’m proud of her.
I think Tahlia has too many issues to have a kid. As for models who have children, most of them have been established. Going by the trainwrecks on the NTMs is not a good argument. I wish her luck but I see the grandparents raising the kid.

i think all those negative comments about Tahlia are just disgusting. Who r u to decide when someone shud have a child? We all have different paths to our destinies and if u think Tahlia havin a baby is a terible thing, then sod off. Heidi klum is expectin her fourth child, but her career is stl goin strong. i think she is such a strong girl to reveal tht secret to the world. havin a baby at 25 or 30 or 18 dont determine if u’re goin to be a good parent. let her be…HATERS
To “yeaaaaah” – the scars are only the visible part of her injury. Scars on her skin may not be the problem, it may be scar tissue on the inside.
I am so happy for Tahlia. I agree with you kunesh. we are not the ones to decide when she can have children. CompassJourney it is the scar tissues on the inside that are also damaged since i am a burn surviver too and getting pregnant is tough.
