What would happen if the least relevant American Idol winner, Taylor Hicks, and the woman behind the haircut sensation of 2009, Kate Gosselin, got together? Well, the reality television world would probably implode on itself and the space-time continuum would be disturbed, but otherwise it sounds like a perfect match.
It could happen, since Taylor said he would so hit that: “I would totally date her. I have always said I wanted nine kids, so it would be perfect!”

If he’s so irrelevant why bother to feature a story about him and “Kiss Me Kate.” Why are you so interested in spreading a remark made in jest by someone guzzling boose. You write – “The space-time continuum would be disturbed, but otherwise it sounds like a perfect match.” Huh – the space-time continuum being disturbed Sounds pretty important to me. But explain how an event so awesome could involve someone so irrelevant!!
Irrelevant?? Well , lets see , I guess Taylor didn’t sign with 19E and denied them the opportunity to make a buck so to THEM hes not so important. But hes damned important to a lot of fans.
He was relevant when he was on Idol, giving them the highest rated shows they have ever had, more excitement from the fans and media than any other idol ever got, making Idol the most money ever on any summer tour. Almost entirely sold out at every show. Good luck with that this year. haha But when you don’t hop to AIs every wish they make you pay and the media and bloggers like this one just repeat what they hear because they don’t have the ability or the smarts to find out what the facts really are.
Taylor has been all over the media in almost a 100 cities this year, and he has impressed wherever he goes. His fans have traveled from all over the world to see him at Grease and at his own shows. He put out a great album that fans stand in long lines to buy at Grease along with all the other merchandise. And I understand hes worth a few million now. And he has control of it all. Relevant enough for me.
Irrelevant, Jean – in just what way. Please explain because I truly want to know what you meant by that nasty remark. Taylor has been traveling with “Grease” for over a year and they have been playing to sell out crowds. At the end of the show he comes back and sings a song from his new album, so the audience gets a double treat. He has been responsible for adding $150,000 a week to their box audience take. In NYC people paid top dollar for standing room only seats. He is publicity spokesperson for the show and has appeared on all media outlets in the cities where Grease has played. To the delight of his fans he has conducted lucrative shadow tours on the side. He has had numerous offers for not only Broadway shows but TV and movies as well. He has released a new CD and and a DVD as well and is currently working on a new album. You may think Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are more relevant because they get mainstream publicity and are pictured as success stories, but Allen has sold only about l/4 the amount Taylor did on his post-idol album and Adam barely made it to gold. Taylor sold more in the first two weeks than the two of them combined sold in two months. So why should they be considered relevant and Taylor looked down on as irrelevant. If he’s actually interested in dating Kate, so what. She would never have it so good.
