Taylor Lautner’s New Moon Fate to Be Decided Soon

It seems that this may be the week that we learn the fate of Taylor Lautner‘s role in New Moon. EW reports that Taylor may still keep his role as Jacob in the hugely anticipated movie.

Summit Entertainment is supposed to reveal their decision this week. They’ve already confirmed that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will return in their roles for Bella and Edward. The issue with Taylor is that the character of Jacob significantly changes in New Moon.

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg says, “Jacob is a totally different character in New Moon. He’s a foot taller and huge – and he’s supposed to look 25. It’s really a question of whether or not the same actor can play the role … Everyone would love to keep him [Lautner]. We all think he’s the loveliest person ever.”

Keep your fingers crossed! Taylor says that he’s been putting on weight, and he was set to meet with New Moon director, Chris Weitz, over the holidays.
